I'm so mad at myself

I have a confession, I stressed out at work and indulged in some Junior Mints and cheetos. I don't keep these at my desk but my cubicle mate does. I've asked her nicely not to bring this stuff in but she flat out told to get lost and then proceeded to bring in even more crap.

I've requested to be moved but no one wants to sit with her.

Soooo, any suggestions would be welcome.

Thank you,

Susan

keep your water jug full or have coffee sitting on your desk. Take a walk to the ladies room or walk up the stairs to de-stress. Keep your thoughts positive and just ignore your cubicle partner. When she pulls out junk food - put headphones on if you can and just tone out the munching sound or that is the time to go get a fresh bottle of water. You can do this!!!

I hear you.  Unfortunately the best advice I can give you is "just say no." We can't expect others to change their eating habits for us.  I like the suggestion to get up and walk, take a bathroom break, etc when you are feeling weak.  When I'm at the office I will make a fresh pot of coffee when I get cravings - it takes a good 15 minutes to brew and gives me something to do to distract myself.  Good luck!

Frankly, it isn't up to your cubicle mate to keep you on track.  I know it sucks. But, it's all up to you.

Perhaps you can bring in some protein snacks on plan to indulge in when you feel tempted?  Come on here and post when you feel overwhelmed.  Do you have a work buddy that you can go vent to?  Can you go take a power walk, coffee break or even go to the bathroom when you feel weak?

I am a food addict, thus I am not unsympathetic, but truthfully, I am around temptations all the time.  Part of recovery is learning to find other outlets and ways of dealing with stress.

I do know it's up to me. I made the decision, I have to be strong.

From now on, water and a walk when temptation strikes.

I'm very disappointed in myself.

I do know that I'm a food addict

Susan --

I think you're awfully hard on yourself friend.  It's just food.  You ****** up -- but learn from it, see why and move on!  You certainly have no reason to be disappointed in yourself.

You've got this!!  Next time you'll be better prepared!

Sounds to me like you know the answer and just needed a little reinforcement. You have the right plan. Stay strong!!

A protein bar??

I used to take some Syntrax Lemon Tea protein powder to work with me and used it for my afternoon break.  Good protein, refreshing when made with cold water, out of the room where the temptations lodge.

I just ordered some Syntrax Lemon Tea.  Thanks for the reminder.  I used to buy it all the time.

Maybe keep some tic tacs or sugar free hard candies in your desk. Just don't go overboard with them.
