How long was your 3rd week stall?

I did not have a three week stall BUT 4 months post op I DID have a stall that lasted for about 15 days...and I even GAINED 2 lbs!

Just ride it out.  The three week stall is frequent enough where one would almost take it as a "normal" part of the process.

And yes, it is normal to feel heartbroken too!  You have invested a lot of time, money and effort both PRE-OP and post-op.  You are also healing and the process takes a lot of physical and emotional energy. This brokenheartedness stems from wanting to do well and have a good outcome.  Do what you are supposed to do (i.e. follow your surgeons plan and eat protein forward) and you WILL be under 300 lbs.

My starting weight was 270-275 when I rolled into the operating theater. I was convinced that I would never see below 200 lbs.  I followed the directions and I hit 199 lbs.  THen I was convinced that I would never see below 180 lbs. I followed the plan and hit 179 lbs.  Then I was certain that I would never see below 160 lbs. It was too close to my high school weight!  And now I am 139 lbs, which is 5 lbs less than what  I weighed in high school.

I have PCOS and am convinced I am broke too. But you know what?  The surgery still works.

So work it girl!

I do hope for results like your's, and I am determined to make this work.  We hit an online sale for H&M where we got some pretty dresses and tops for $3 each.  When I was in high school I wore a size 6.  I figured a size 8 or 10 is safe, and I can give them to my daughter if they don't fit eventually.  Everything got here and I just cried.  I looked at how small the clothes were and swore I'd never be able to wear those things.  Especially with the stall.  But my husband made me hang them up in my closet anyway and work towards it.  He hung up a hook in front of where the scale sits and rotates dresses on the hook for motivation with little love notes.  That helps me not cry SO much when I get on the scale right now.

I thought my stall had broken a few weeks ago but I was wrong.  I saw a little loss of a half a pound here and there.  But during my period I went back up to 310.  I just want to see 11 pounds gone.  And I want to lose as fast as I was when I first got home.  1-2 pounds a day.

Oh!  I remember losing 1-2 lbs a day!  It was magical wasnt it!!!

I assure you, no one can keep up that pace.

If you feel comfortable, PM me your diet.  I am not a medical doc and I am really not a nutritionist. I am willing to look it over for you if you want and tell you what I would do. But remember, it is just an opinion and opinions are like @$$h0l3s (i.e. everyone has one).  It doesnt even mean mine is right.

For me, I have to watch carbs (even oatmeal and fruits...pretty sad). If you are at 3 weeks..you are at full broths stage right?

Are your broths cream based.

Also, if you are on broths, it could be something as simple as the salt in the broths and as soon as you move on to the next phase and get away from the salt...it will come fly off.

Also, are your legs more swollen than usual? When I was 278-ish, my ankles and feet were so swollen.  If I slept or read for an hour with my feet on a leg elevator/wedge, I could easily get 2-3 lbs of water weight/edema off my legs.

Just rolling around a few ideas with you.

Also, are you walking when you can?

I'm at 6 weeks.   My 3rd week stall had lasted 3 weeks.   :(  my diet for the most part is eggs, may, cheese, green veg.   I've tried the low carb pita bread things to make pizza but I feel like cap after.  I'm usually at 500 to 800 calories a day depending on the protein I eat.   I don't do a lot of egg because I'm allergic and it makes my tummy upset.   And I probably eat too much cheese.   Oh, and I had to hide the cashews.   Omg.

My "3rd week stall" started after week One and lasted 3 1/2 weeks. My only suggestion is change up what you are eating, we get into a rut sometimes and add some fat. We need that too. I have had several stalls break after eating something higher fat. (I am not talking about going crazy here :) ) Just don't be afraid to switch things up.

I'm usually at the top of the fat allowed.  I eat bacon, and cheese.  My doc told us to stay away from "low fat" because they usually add sugar to compensate and the fat is needed for digestion and ease of bowel movements.

First, let me just say that I have not had surgery yet, and therefore couldn't possibly understand how hard this must be for you. That being said, I spend a lot of time trolling this site trying to prepare myself and I see lots of people talking about the importance of Non-scale victories.

Maybe, to help you get into a more positive space make some small, achievable exercise goals and stay focused on them. Walking around the block once a day for the next week?

Good luck! Don't give up! You have done too much to stop now!

Ugh, I'm so sorry :( I spent about the first month feeling like this was never going to work for me. Maybe the first 6 weeks even? Not even because of food or protein intake, but just because of my super slow losing it felt like to me. I didn't have a week 3 stall but my first month I lost a very small amount compared to most people and I felt so incredibly overwhelmed and like I was never going to lose anything. So I can relate to the crappy feelings. It will get better, I swear!
