Good Morning!  It's going to be a hot one today; in fact, this whole week is looking steamy.  We haven't put the air conditioner unit in for the last few years and it's mostly fine, but there's always that one week where it's touch and go whether or not we're going to kill each other.  This is that week.  LOL

How was everyone's weekend?  We did a lot of yard work (my FAVE!  ) and as a result I got a ton of steps in.  We also set up the banzai water slide for my son and we all made use of that.  Because hot.  I also spent some time at the Wegmans café using their internet because, GET THIS, we shut off both the cable and the internet in an attempt to save money.  Are we crazy people?  I think so.  LOL  A week with temps in the 90s, no air, no cable and no social media.  This really might be that week when I finally snap.

Time since surgery:  1 year and change

B:  coffee, HB egg and a piece of toast

S:  L&F Greek cherry chocolate on top yogurt.  I had to buy this; it called out to me from the refrigerator case.

L:  Buffalo chicken salad, pork rinds and a cheese stick

D:  Gianelli hot Italian sausage patty and some sautéed peppers and onions.  Gianelli sausage is the. best.

TOTALS:  Cals:  870  Protein:  83  Carbs:  46  Fat:  42

Have a great day!!!

OMG Kristin you are DEFINITELY crazy.  No cable or internet?  I would definitely become homicidal lol

It's super hot and steamy here in DC and this whole week is a heat wave.  Joy.  However we use our A/C six months out of the year here.

I had a great weekend too - I didn't post last week because I was traveling for 8 days (ugh) so every day's menu was a guess.  It is SO nice to be home back to normalcy, and I enjoyed even the mundane activities of doing laundry, grocery shopping, etc.  I made it to two classes at the gym both Saturday and Sunday, after three days of slacking from the gym, so that at least made me feel good.

Time Since Surgery: 19 months

B: 3 oz Costco chicken salad with dried cranberries and a sprinkle of pecans

S: Mango with lime juice, salt, and hot sauce - it's delicious I swear!

L: 3 oz Costco chicken salad with dried cranberries and a sprinkle of pecans (this will be my meal twice a day for a few days ha ha)

S: Somersault sunflower snacks

D: Vegan bbq tofu and mac and cheese and kale salad.  I am SO not a vegan (see above) but this is delicious

E: Will walk to the gym and do barre class later today.  It's not the best cardio workout, and gives me almost no steps, but it's definitely muscle defining!

Totals are 1,300 calories, 74 protein, 81 carbs.

Have a great day, all!  Stay cool!  Emily

OMG!  I would die with AC/Cable/Internet!  I don't have premium channels for cable, only basic, but it's really all I watch except for the news or Jeopardy.

My weekend was full of the usual housework, laundry, etc.  we did go to a party for my bil's 50th birthday.  I ate carbs, one tiny piece of calzone and half of one tiny roll. My scale didn't like it one bit; the 2lbs I lost last week came back.  UGH!

B: Premier Protein Shake

L:  Deli Ham, Turkey Pepperoni and 1 slice whole wheat bread, ( I know, I know, more carbs)

D:  Eggface Ricotta Bake and Salad w/homemade viniagrette

S:  SF pudding

Totals:  Cals: 717  Carbs: 48  Protein: 70  Fat: 29

I'm still in my stall.  I'm going back to some serious basics and my pre-op diet to see if I can break it.  Its been 3 weeks of a stall now.

This weekend we picked out our new puppy.  He's only 3 weeks old right now, but he is so adorable, and just a little love.  Got to meet the parent too.  Just really nice dogs.  We are very happy with our choice.

Border Collie puppy.  :)  We have an english bulldog and a mini schnauzer now.  Seems everyone in the house had an animal for themselves (we also have 2 cats and a parakeet) but my husband did not have an animal assigned to him.  LOL  So he decided since we are going to be upgrading our carpet in about a year now is the best time to deal with a puppy.  LOL

I have a border collie... 7 yr old female named Zoey. She is a blue merle, semi rough coat. She is a most unusual border collie because she is very mellow, except with her cat.  She herds her all day long! She is really my son's dog; he got her when he was in the Navy in Hawaii and she came from Australia. He said she was a wild puppy... but not now. She is also the smartest dog I have ever been around. I swear she understands English!  LOL

Have fun with the pup!

Seriously AV, If you make it thru this week you are a saint!!  We try not to turn on the A/C unless absolutely necessary but lately it has been.  Also, we got rid of cable completely and only use streaming services now.  However, I could never get rid of internet NEVER!!

This weekend was absolutely amazing.  I finished my first Olympic distance triathlon yesterday (0.9 mile swim, 25 mile bike, 6.2 mile run) and finally got redemption from my olympic failure in May.  It was fantastic.  I didn't win, but I put forth my best effort and crossed the finish line 5 min under goal.  Here are a few pics.  I love how I'm smiling running, because all day I thought about how grateful and happy I am to be physically able to do this.  4 years ago I barely walked a 5k, now I can do this.
