Is this normal for 4 days post op
I am 4 days post op RNY. I do good getting fluids and protein in until about 4 pm each day. By that time I usually have almost 50grams protein and 50-60 oz water. Then I start to get a little queasy. I have zofran that I take but can't seem to get anymore protein down after that until the next morning, same for liquids. I just took my 2nd Zofran this evening and am trying to drink about 6 more ounces before taking my pain meds and going to bed.
Is this normal for so soon post op? I have no nausea or protein/liquid aversions in the mornings until late afternoon.

If you are getting that much in by 4 -- you are doing so much better than most people in a whole day.
Perhaps slow down just a bit and see if you don't feel better later in the day --

Well, no... I wouldn't say it is "normal" to be getting so much water and protein in on just Day 4... I would say that you are ROCKING IT! Most people cannot get that much in all day so early out.
As far as your concern, though, this is the first time I have heard of this, but I think Kat gave you a good suggestion.
Everything early out is kind of trial and error since it varies so much from one person to another.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
At 4 days post-op, I was wiped by 4 pm. I felt like a 90 year old.
I think you are doing fine.

I learned that my blood pressure was very low in the afternoons and it made me tired and queasy. At my first follow up appointment they took me off my high BP meds! And my afternoons got much better!
Day 4 you are doing awesome! If you have that much in by 4PM you can take a break for awhile... or slow it down in the Afternoons...
