Kudos to you for posting pre-surgery! I'm in my pre-surgery (revision) stage myself and starting to track my water and food journal even though it's not required for approval... just starting the good habits. One of my issues is not planning meals in advance though! I'm going to take a page from your book and see if posting in the thread everyday helps! :)

Thanks FelicityQ.  Today was actually my 1st day to post but I definitely plan to keep it up. Good luck with the planning.  I fix my lunches for the week on Sunday evening so I just have to grab it from the fridge each morning; since I started weighing and measuring the portions it has really helped.

Ooh, I do the same! I make a large crockpot of chili about once every 2 weeks and portion it out to about 15 tupperware servings. From there, I have an easy premade lunch (or dinner depending) that I can just conveniently pop in the microwave!  It comes to about 1.5c of chili; I imagine after my RNY and I am on solid foods, i'll be at about half that or so.

Here's the nutrition stats on it: 1.5 cups of chili - Calories: 355 / Carbs: 35 / Fat: 13 / Protein: 27 / Fiber: 12

Any feedback on whether a half portion of this (177cal / 17g Carbs / 7g Fat / 14g Protein / 6g Fiber) is in a good range? It's my own recipe and one that me and my DH really enjoy - I'd like to refine it to get the #'s in the right ranges!

Its rare its ever that high lcraver... But i a doing a protein shake for breakfast and then a can of tuna for a second breakfast/snack so already its a lot of protein there... I have been feeling like I want my protein numbers to be 100 daily for sure, today was just a bonus. And I think sometimes MFP over inflates the numbers...  who knows??

Sorry Navy, its not a recipe. I buy them from the local Farmer's Market. This past Sunday I bought 5 bags (the bags are the about the size of a ziploc sandwich bag) and I get about 4-6 servings out of each bag as I weigh out 2-3oz at at time. I gave some to my niece as well as she loves them too. I don't have the time or skill to make my own, hence I buy them.  Most speciality cheese and meat shops carry them.

Do they have a brand or is it a fresh food thing?

Fresh food thing.  Maybe Nikki (Mamata2) can chime in here, where do you get yours Nikki?  And do you have a brand name?
