Good morning all!!!

Hope the computers aren't becoming aware and want to screw with our menu forum. LOL... I personally would be afraid to mess with us!

So, last night I made frosting for my son's birthday cake, frosted it and made him homemade ice cream. He is like Mr. Super Fit guy... I honestly think he is very on top of what he eats and works out so much because of my struggles... good for him.  So, he splurged last night and had red velvet cake, ice cream and girlfriend made cookies. I tell you this because I only ate one bite of cake (just to check it) and a tad of frosting when I was making it. This is such a huge accomplishment for me, you just don't know. One of my main concerns when I decided to have WLS, was that I LOVE to cook. I love to watch people eat my food. I can still do this without going off the WLS deep end. I know it will be an individual battle at each celebration, but I survived this one!!  Yay!

My menu today:

B: Premier chocolate protein shake, tea and SugarLeaf

L: 2.5 oz of turkey cheeseburger meatloaf, 1/2 cup of green beans

D: taco salad (3 oz ground turkey, little cheese, little lite sour cream, lettuce and cukes)

S: 1 oz beef jerky and strawberry light and fit greek yogurt (eaten separately)

Totals: Calories - 695, Protein - 82, Carbs - 41, Sugar - 27, Fats - 23

Vits/Water - started. Exercise - pool time (if it stops raining)

So, send good vibes my way. Recently, my wonderful SUV blew his motor (husband's fault) and the warranty company covered the bill, except for $1,200. I have to finagle this amount of extra money within my finances (I HATE being poor... I think if I got rid of my DH, my $ issues would disappear... I am so mad at him). I will know today if a dear friend can help me out until I get a settlement I am expecting next month and then I can get my "Brad" out of hock!! Wish me luck!

Oh man, that sucks about your car!   My husband is a money hemorrhager, too.  I send money-gettin' vibes your way...

I also love to cook and feed others. This was one of my main concerns as well.    I haven't done too much of since surgery, hubby and I share the cooking, and I've not entertained anyone yet.  But I did make  a cake for my daughter's birthday and had one small piece and was able to leave it alone after that.  I've been to a couple of get-togethers and was able to eat only what I could and surprisingly was not hankering for the bad stuff.  Hopefully I will keep this up.

Sorry about your car.

Good for you to be posting and aware of what you are eating pre-surgery. I had to lose with to have my surgery... yes, I was (and still am) a big girl!!  LOL. But I was able to take off 45 lbs. before surgery by being protein forward with my diet. And, good for you with the Isopure Drinks... I bought a bunch thinking I am going to have NO problem getting my protein in. But, I couldn't stomach the taste. Lucky for me, my son loves them!

I will say that following this thread pre-surgery was one of the most helpful things I did to prepare for surgery. Everyone has great ideas for food choices and it helped me to realize that I still could enjoy food.

Welcome!
