Carb question
I have to attend a 3 week, total of 9 hours of diabetic classes since I was diagnosed as a diabetic a couple of months ago. One thing the teacher stated is that a diabetic needs to eat within one hour after waking. You liver will release sugar into your bloodstream if you have not eaten any food. It is a way to help you body and brain that need calories. That is why you can have high blood sugar in the morning if you don't eat. If you eat a protein/carb combination, your body doesn't feel the need to self-release to help you stay alive.
