That's awesome that you reached goal!!  Congratz!  and congratz on not giving into the banana bread.  I think I would have to just leave.

I would tell my young self a whole list of things:

1. Get WLS now.  You are thinking about it!  Just do it!  Stop being scared!

2. Your credit is important.  Don't **** it up!

3. Don't open the bar.  All your employees are coke heads and they will steal from you, a lot.  Then stab you in the back when you fire them.  Save yourself.  Its nothing but pain.

Going back to some basics.  My weight loss is super slow and my stomach is very upset.

L: Premier protein shake

D: Tuna salad

Things get my better, you are only 5 weeks out.  The weight will start falling off and your pouch will heal in time (not what you want to hear).  I remember thinking I would never feel "right" in the tummy again.  After 3 months I was back to feeling normal again, aside from the restriction :)

Yeah, I am just mad about my loss rate.  This is supposed to be when I am losing the most, and I had a 2 weeks stall which seems to be broken but I am only losing 1/4 to 1/2 a pound a day.  Its so frustrating.  I want that honeymoon period loss rate that everyone else seems to have.  Not that typical weight loss rate of 1-2 pounds a week.

Your first 6 months are golden.  I felt like it took forever for weight to fall off initially.  I guess it was because everyone told me that weight would just fly off.  I had this expectation that I would be dropping dress sizes like crazy which didn't happen.  I followed my rules and tried not to stress too much about it.  Give it some time.  :)

I like the credit advice!  You never realize how important it is until it is gone!

Your tummy will feel better eventually. I still go through days that I feel a little icky. But, icky is better than weighing 440 lbs! And, the weight loss will kick in... I go fast, then slow and it evens out. Heck, you are only eating 455 calories today... you will see it on the scales soon.

Highest weight - 440 lbs, Surgery weight - 395 lbs, Current weight - 291 lbs.

Good Morning All!

If I could go back I would tell a much younger Melanie that no matter how much you want to believe it that eating a King-Size Reeces PB Cups and then drinking a 44 oz Diet Coke does NOT cancel out each other ;).

Today my pouch (Gertrude) is feeling rumbly & grumbly. Just not a good feeling, so I think its gonna be a day of liquids and maybe a yogurt. Just give ole Gertrude a break!

Morning ladies! Nikki, thrilled for you on hitting goal, how WICKED Is that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stayed within my carb count yesterday but again it was really, really hard. I am finding in the evenings I am getting real cravings for "snacks."  Not sure if I am just dehydrated or if its head hunger. Need to do some reflection on this...

Don't get me started on the bagels & cream cheese!  Someone here at work brought in cinnamon raisin bagels and fluffy yummy cream cheese, I almost caved! Then remembered that is exactly what will put me back up to 250 lbs!!! Celebration protein & coffee LOL LOL

Back in time I would have told myself that Birthday Cake is not a food group and don't eat it for three meals a day (LOL!). Seriously I would have handled my stress better, hired myself a counsellor and not ate all my stress/depression and unhappiness up to 250lbs and instead of trying to handle it all on my own (which didn't work out) I would have talked more and sought the comfort of family & friends. Suffering in silence sucks!

Time since surgery: 20 months (yesterday)

B: two cups of coffee with 1% Lactose free milk and then Oikos Vanilla Greek Yogurt & 1/2 GNC Lean Banana Cream Protein Shake

L: 3 oz of tandoori grilled chicken with hot sauce

S: Protein Hot Chocolate and 2 tbsp of guacamole and red pepper strips

D: 4 oz of Jerk chicken bbq'd and if room 1/2 cup of mixed salad greens

S: 1 cup of watermelon and Protein Hot Chocolate

V/W: vits done, calcium on alarms and need more water!!!  Seriously need a kick in the butt over this!!!

E: 5 kms jog at lunch, 5km jog when I get home then going to the salon for pedi and eyebrow wax

TOTALS: 817 calories, 106 protein, 44 carbs, 21 fat

Tomorrow one of my husband's cousin's is getting married, so will try and post of pic in the morning of the dress I am wearing to the dinner/dance.  Its a designer dress a girlfriend loaned me and its strapless which is totally out of my comfort zone, so will post for you all to see. I am seriously fretting about this dress, its very form fitting and just something I would NEVER buy hence its a loaner from a friend!

Have a great one gals, keep up the great work everyone!!

Thank you Daisy!  I love your advice, I know I should have done the same thing!  Comfort food only leads to uncomfortable clothing

I'm super looking foward to the dress pic.  I bet you will look FAB!!
