It's been 8 months since my RNY on November 12th, 2014! I've been super busy with my 19 month old so I never post, but I'm still reading and checking up on you guys(:

Anyways, it's been 8 months, and I'm a slow loser, but I've lost  about 60 pounds and am about 2 pounds away from being in ONEDERLAND!!!! Just thought I'd share the progress pictures with you guys.

Please pardon that I didn't get dolled up for the pictures. They originally were just for my eyes but I'm wondering if my weight loss is noticeable to others. I used the same dress so I could see how it fit differently(:

I'm watching my eating, getting in my exercise and getting to my goal weight! Slower than most but I'm still losing~

Height: 5 ft 2 in

Start: 162-165ish #

Last weigh in: 201.5 #

I am going to give you a little "tough love". January 13th you posted your weight was 228. In the past 6 months you have only lost 26.5 pounds (about 4 pounds a month). Please track your food and be honest with yourself about how much you are eating. Right now the surgery is doing all the work so you can eat crap and tons of it and still lose (not as much as you should be losing, but you can still lose). This will not last. If you want to truly reach your goal and more importantly stay there, please learn good habits now.

Good luck.

This is so true. The weight loss does stop if you don't change. I have been stuck at my weight for a few months and I know it is my fault. I have evaluated things I have been doing and realized I needed to change.

Laura is being honest and not mean. She is has done so well with WLS and she is a great mentor.

I didn't ask for your 'tough love'.

I haven't been lying to myself about how much I'm eating, as I track every single bite I eat.

I go regularly to my surgeons office for checks and the doctor says I'm right on track.

I don't understand why you think you can just come along and assume I'm eating tons of crap?

I HAVE learned good habits and I follow a strict lifestyle change.

It just really, really bothers me that people on this site will assume and nag at you just because you are losing differently than someone else.

Like I've said, I go to my surgeons office and I was told that 4-6 pounds a month is just fine.

You of all people, being someone who knows a lot about this whole process, should know that people lose at different rates.

I'm done posting on this site just so I can get a little 'tough love' to bring me down. Thank you SO very much for assuming I'm eating crap and it's causing me to lose slowly. Makes me feel wonderful!

Here's a bit of tough love for you:

Just because your journey was easier for you and you've lost faster and more than other people, it doesn't mean you know everything about how other peoples' bodies lose the weight and how they keep it off.

I was trying to point out the weight loss does stop. I was not trying to be mean.

No, I understand that you were not trying to be mean, 3bassethounds. I was replying to Laura's comment. I just take things very hard to heart when it comes to this weight loss journey. I have been trying so hard with many, many other underlying health problems that cause me to lose slower than most. It's why I had to have the surgery so young in the first place. I'm going to be deactivating my account because the more I read, the more I feel discouraged. As if the progress I've made hasn't been progress at all. Thank you for your comment and God Bless..

Trust me don't deactivate. There is really help here. We know how emotional WLS can be. Also having a baby is not easy. I don't miss that.

You should be glad you had this done when you are young. I am 48 and had to watch my kids from the sidelines. You may not be eating crap. But you maybe eating to much.

Take a look at what are you eating RNYs on a daily basis. It does help. No one here wants anyone to fail. They want us to do well. I am sure you have heard horrible WLS stories. It sucks when people bring them up and tell you so and so did this or that.

I will say I got mad and deleted my account. I reinstated it two days after. I don't know what I would do without this site. So think about what has been said.

No, she doesn't know everything. But after a few years of observing posters here, you do tend to get a good eye for red flags.

See ya.

Nobody said you were eating crap. Eating too much healthy stuff results in slow loss too.

People do, indeed, lose at different rates. Those who eat less, lose faster. Those who eat more, lose slower.

People are trying to help. 4 pounds a month from months 3 to 8 is not just fine. If your surgeon is fine with that, that's really sad. But you shouldn't be ok with it. It is much, much harder in month 18 than it is in month 8.

Good luck. Really.

You are young and have a lot to still learn about WLS.

You don't want tough love fine so be it, but when your honeymoon period is over and it will be before you know it and you still haven't reached your goal weight just remember you will have no one to blame but yourself.

It really sounds like a good therapist would help you out since you still seem to be thin skinned and not wanting to take advice.

The vets here tell people like it is because most are not being honest with what they are doing and need the eye opening to get it right.

If you are doing everything perfectly then you won't have a problem writing down for us what your daily intake is.

Serious question what will happen if you don't reach your goal weight and start to regain at a year out or even two years out?

Most if not all RNY post ops use the first 6 months to maximize their weight loss. It will get harder and harder as the months go by and then weight loss with get less and less.

So instead of getting upset just like you did before you should really take  a good look at what everyone is telling you.
