Hey All,

Mamata, sorry I didn't get to reply to your question yesterday.  I do like barre class, and no, I don't find it at all like yoga.  Especially the one I go to has a ton of moving, basically you are going from one move to another (although a lot of it happens on the "mat" so you don't necessarily get tons of steps in), but I"m so sore in all the places I want to be sore.  So for now at least, I really like it.  I'm going to Xtend Barre, just fyi, I know there's tons of different barre type classes and that's the "brand/type" I've gone too.  Fingers crossed I see some actual toning, I'll let you know in a month or so :)

Time since surgery: 17 months

B: 2 string cheese

L: tofu salad w/ cucumbers & peppers

D: Turkey carnitas and small salad

W/V: Need to take my vits

E: Hike planned for tonight

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning. I had my surgery at Virtua memorial in New Jersey. I live about 2 hours from there. I don't like the hospital where I live. It is also close to my husbands office so he would be able to go to work and come and visit me. I hate when he would be there and I would be sleeping.

Yesterday I had two root canals and two crowns put in so today I am very weary about eating. For breakfast I made a milkshake. I used fresh strawberries, a chocolate Premier Protein drink, a Strawberry yogurt and a quarter cup of artic zero. I did add a little bit of Splenda. For some reason my taste buds are not as sensitive as they used to be.

B:Protein shake

L:Canned tuna with sugar-free pickles I always have a ton of tuna in the house so I know it's an easy meal

D:Pork tenderloin and zucchini and yellow squash roasted on the grill

S: I may do another milkshake

Vitamins are in water is going down.

Have a great day.

I feel good. The teeth just make me nervous biting into something.

Hey ladies, I'm jumping in a little late this morning - things got away from me, but I'm hoping for a quieter afternoon *knock on wood*

I had surgery at Temple University Hospital in Philly on March 18, 2014. Time flies when you're having fun. Here in the Philly area I was lucky enough to have a TON of options, most of which are/were Centers of Excellence. I went to about 5 info sessions, but really "clicked" with the surgeon at Temple best - all the programs had basically the same stats, so for me it came down to what surgeon I was most comfortable with.

Time since surgery: 15 months

B: Chobani Tube, breakfast sandwich

S: coffee with cream

L: turkey sloppy joe, string cheese, granola thin

S: turkey stick and Babybel Light

D: TJ's balsamic chicken and steamed veggies

S: popcorn and a froyo bar

TOTALS: Calories 1036, Protein 76, Carbs 93, Fat 42

V/W: started

E: oops, I was supposed to do cardio this morning but woke up to pouring rain and 0 motivation...

Good morning, all!

I had my surgery on 03/02/15 at Cary WakeMed in Cary, NC. My surgeon was Dr. Brandon Roy, who I just love. He and his office staff are the most caring people and I am so glad that I chose their practice. I only stayed overnight in the hospital but my care was okay... I was miserable because I had to be reintubated in the the recovery room because evidently I am a lazy breather... lol. See, I can't even trust myself to breathe! But my recovery room nurse was awesome, my overnight nurse was fabulous and all the others were okay. I was just so dry and miserable so that didn't help. I think I was mad at them because I had to beg them to get me up to walk. I think it was just a busy time at the hospital because I have mostly been very complimentary of care in the past... but dang it, get me up and walk because I want to get out of here (that was my attitude).  LOL

Oh, and I did walk the dog last night... my Zoey. She is really my son's dog that he brought home from when he was in the Navy in Hawaii. She is a Border Collie, blue merle, and is very laid back. Her and I bonded so much when he came home, that when he moved out, he left her with me. Anyway, she is able to walk off leash very well and I walked her around the pond behind our house.  She kept looking at me like... WTF, Gram... where are we going???  But, she loved it and so did I!

My menu today:

B1: String Cheese, 1 oz beef jerky

B2:  Tea and Sugar Leaf

L: 1.5 oz of Dickey's BBQ pulled pork, 1.5 oz Dickey's BBQ barbecued ham, 3 tablespoons of barbecued beans, 3 tablespoons of coleslaw (this meal will be eaten over the entire afternoon so it is lunch and snack)

D: 3 oz talapia with Old Bay seasoning

S: cookie dough flavored protein ice cream

Totals: Calories - 723, Protein - 73, Carbs - 37. Sugars - 25, Fats - 32

Remembered my vitamins this morning so they are started. Exercise will be walking with Zoey and the pool

Everyone have a good one!!

Lourie

Hey all!  I'm late, I know, but I'm still training the new girl and I still want to participate!  I think tomorrow is the last day of my on the fly training, so *fingerscrossed*  I had my surgery on July 17, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital here in Syracuse, NY with Dr. William Graber.  I actually work for the hospital and had seen hundreds of Dr. Graber's claims and approvals cross my desk, so picking him was a no brainer!

So, last night I was outside putting the trampoline together (finally) and had my husband take a picture of me since I'm so close to my 1 year surgi-versary.  You guys, I'mma post a before and after shot tomorrow for photo Friday!  I know, I know.  LOLOL

B:  Coffee and 2 Nature Valley breakfast bissuits w/a wedge of LC

S:  string cheese

L:  Buffalo chicken salad and pork rinds

S:  WATTAMELON

D:  black bean burger with an over easy egg and another cheese stick, microwaved to get it all melty/crisp

TOTALS:  Cals:  867  Protein:  70  Carbs:  62  Fat:  39
