Odd ? Sensation

So I'm just over 8 weeks post RNY. My surgery was without complication, I'm on a regular diet now and it's going well.

I'm wondering if anyone else experiences the sensation I experience. Best way I can describe it, (keep in mind I'm guessing at what I think is happening) is I can literally feel the point when food or drink leavea my pouch and goes into my intestine. It doesn't hurt, or make me feel any way, but it's something I definitely noticed consistently since the surgery. And it happens while drinking/eating, not after.

Just curious if any one else experiences this. I'm not concerned about it, just wondering if it's typical.

Yes, I felt that -- especially in the beginning.  I still get it a lot if I drink cold beverages --- especially if i do it too fast!

I'm about 3 weeks out and I have started to feel this, but it has a little bit of pain with it.  I think my nerves are starting to grow back.

Yes, I have that also, at nine months out. Weird, but kind of a little reminder to stay on track!

I have never noticed it with food, even early out, but at 8 years out, I can still feel it when I drink something very cold or hot.

That sounds cool.  I only WISH I could feel something like that.  I often feel completely at a loss as to what is leaving my pouch and when.  Sometimes a food seems to just sit there forever.  Then another day the same exact food seems to have slipped right through because I feel hungry again right afterwards.  My pouch is still very confusing to me.

So I'll offer, the sensation would have made sense to me if I were feeling it after some time elapsed between eating/drinking and feeling it. Feeling it right away makes me wonder if, (like you said) food is just passing right through. But I still haven't felt hungry since the surgery. I haven't felt "full" either...I just seem to be able to sense when I've had enough.

Some post ops take longer feel full because of the healing time of the cut nerves. That is why we measure our food. Some lucky people take longer before their hunger returns too.  I can feel cold liquids passing through.
