When does the energy come back?

I stupidly had to go back to work 2.5 weeks after my surgery -- and I would come home and literally sleep like I was a toddler.  I was exhausted.  It took about 2 to 3 months to get my energy back.

Sleeping like a toddler...that describes me perfectly!

Sadly for my family, I was grouchy like one too!

It seems it took me a good 3 weeks to have some energy back. I felt that once I started taking the vitamins and they "kicked" in a bit I starting feeling a bit more energy each day. The first 2 weeks, just taking a shower would literally wipe me out! And to think you had an extra surgery too! Try and give yourself a break and rest as much as need to so your body can heal. Sending you positive vibes!

Thank you for the vibes!!  The shower definitely wears me out cause I shower in VERY ho****er.  It helps so much to alleviate pain and any stomach cramps, though so i take at least 2 a day.  Thank God for our teak shower seat.

I was surprised at how weak I was 3-4 weeks after surgery.  My surgeon said to expect that for a minimum of 6 weeks.  And that's just with one surgery.

I'm now almost 5 months out, some things still tire me out where they didn't before.  I can walk for hours.  But I can't just stand for very long at all.  Waiting in line for something for just 15 minutes wipes me out.  I need to sit down badly.

At this stage, I chalk it up to still being under 550 calories a day.  Plus... I know I've lost a lot of muscle mass.  Especially in my shoulders and quads.  I'm working on rebuilding that slowly.

Sounds like you're doing just fine.  Hang in there!

Oh no!  Was the throwing up throughout the day, or shortly after eating?  Its a good day for me if I don't throw up.

It was about 40 minutes after eating and I threw up 4 times within 60 minutes...AWFUL!!. Ever since I added food I have had a few bad days, its like I cant get it right. Finally bought a scale and hoping it will work to weigh the food. I think I feel hungry to much some days, my doctor said I am probably not getting in enough protein but I cannot stand any protein drinks I have tried yet.....Still searching for the right one for me....
