When does the energy come back?

I have NO energy.  I don't know if its from healing still or only getting 200 to 300 calories a day in.  Its just destroying me.  I'm an active person usually.  And its not like I'm getting winded, I am just fully worn out!  I spent the entire day sitting on my bed doing my work from there.  (I got up and took care of myself, i'm not that lazy) I only got up to make my meals, and to use the facilities.  My husband got home and was telling me how pathetic he is at picking out clothing so we decided to drive to Dillards and do a quick shopping trip.  20 minutes in and I had to go into the dressing room with my husband just so I could sit down.  We got home and I we all had dinner and I had to go sit in the shower and let the ho****er run on me.  Now I'm sitting in bed and I had to have the kids come to me to say goodnight cause I can't even imagine going up the stairs.  My RNY was on the 12th and my intestinal blockage surgery was the 21st.  I know I have healing still going on, but the calorie situation can't be helping.

It was about three weeks before I started feeling like myself.  Don't worry this feeling won't last forever.  (I only had RNY, so you have more going on than I did.)  Try to be patient!

Well, yes and yes, it would seem.

Yes, your'e recovering in a BIG way. You've had 2 surgical procedures within just a few weeks. Your body is still in major recovery mode and that's where your energy is going.

And yes, 200-300 calories is very low. Sounds like barely (if even)  2 protein shakes a day. What are you able to actually consume in a day's time? Are you getting in adequate water to avoid dehydration?

I'm not able to take in a lot right now.  I am finally hitting my water totals.  I am only able to take in 1 to 2 ounces of food right now so I am working up to my protein totals.

I took off 6 weeks from work. When I went back I was at about 80% for the next two weeks after that.

Surgery takes a major toll on our bodies. I have had numerous ones. You are not being lazy your body is healing. You will feel better soon. It may take a bit but totally worth it.

5  weeks for my revision to RNY and 9 months for my multiple hernia repair and TT surgeries.

Sucks.  You'll be okay - but it may take you the summer.

That's what worries me.  The community pool is being finished and I desperately want to be able to go and swim in it.

Take it easy you had a lot done to your body in a short time. Your enery levels will come back, take care of yourself in the mean time and don'e over do it because that will just set you back. I had a really hard time because just a couple weeks out of surgery I was so tired and I couldn't tell if I was really tired or just being lazy and not getting the normal stuff done that I usually get done. I just listened to what my body was telling me and did not push myself too hard. Now I am just over a month post op and can feel that my energy levels are slowly coming back. At times I do feel "lazy" but I think that is just my body telling me that I need to rest. You will get back to normal and there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
