How is it possible??
So happy to see your post! I am at 2.5 weeks post op and so upset I haven't lost more. On day 9 I had lost 8lbs and was so thrilled at progress and saw surgeon for an early "2 week" follow up (due to their scheduling issues) and doc was so pleased with progress he moved me to puréed foods on day 9 instead of at 2 week mark. Since that, now at day 17, I have only lost 2 lbs! I am afraid to even get on the scale this AM for fear of not seeing the scale move, AGAIN. I too am staying at under 30 carbs, protein 62-70g. On day of surgery I was 196.7 and now at 186.7 (started my journey at 215 in Feb 2015) & am utterly perplexed at how I am holding on to weight when eating 450-550 calories a day.😡😡😡. I even did a 5 mile bike ride on Wed, day 15, thinking I'd have to lose a full pound or more the next day. Not! Not even a half a pound. Plus, I think that 5 miles really did me in as all day Thurs I felt like a slug and had very little energy AND did no dedicated exercise. I probably really should have pushed through it and at least walked for 30 min, but I was so discouraged.
Even the Nut on day 14 was surprised I was not seeing more come off, which really upset me. BUT, maybe I should just be happy with 10 lbs and just start doing measurements as I too notice clothes much looser each day and not get stuck on how fast first 9 days went.
In summation... I FEEL YOUR PAIN!
but let's just keep moving and focus on following the grand plan/end game. We are in it to win it (or actually, to LOSE it, haha)

Thanks Michelle! Its really nice to hear from someone close to my stats and time out of surgery. I know it will take patience and at this point there is nothing more we can really do but follow our programs. What other choice do we have but try to be patient. I really thought I had a handle on this numbers thing and now Im surprised to learn that I really dont.
I am 11 months post-op and have lost 82 pounds. I have gone from 231 to 149, I have plateaued the last 6 weeks or so. The first month I only lost about 12 pounds, took awhile to lose the water weight and then had a stall. Don't worry about it, keep doing what you're doing and like others have said, you have less to lose than some of the others. Good luck, before you know the weight will come off.
Your not doing anything wrong. Your losing 3lbs a week! that's amazing. There will be times you lose a lot and times you don't lose anything and even the occasional uptick in weight. Just look at your average across the board. If you are losing 2-3lbs a week for the first 4-6 months your right on target! Truth is even if you only lose an average of .5 lbs a week your still losing...were you doing that before surgery? I know I wasn't!
Your doing great...hang in there!

Lily, I was 209 on surgery day and I only lost 11lbs my first month come to think of it, 3 months out and well I have lost a total of 35lbs divide that by 3 and you get 11.66 a month. I think 12lbs lost is awesome for what your starting weight was. Don't give up, you're doing GREAT! Keep doing what you're doing and you will do just fine! One thing I will suggest is taking your measurements!!!! This is something I didn't start until month two and I wish I would have started it sooner! When I thought I hit a stall I was so upset but in that month I lost 4in in my waist! No wonder my work pants were falling off my butt. LOL Keep tracking your food intake and your walks, oh yeah one thing my Nut told me was on the first of every month add something for just a day to confuse your body. I added the bands for upper body, walked up stairs or used my stepper. Now the bands are a constant so the first of the month I will walk up stairs and use my stepper. Anyways, I think you're doing an amazing job so keep it up and Good Luck!!!!!!! Hope you have a Great weekend!
You are doing nothing wrong Lily. Your starting weight is much lower than those who lost 20 pounds the first month. I was 260 starting weight and didn't lose 20 pounds the first month yet went on to lose all my excess weight plus some! You will too! Just keep following your surgeons plan and I promise you will get there.
