Crystal Light vs. Water... why?
This same thing happened to me with the Strawberry/Orange/Banana crystal light. I switched to the Walmart brand of Strawberry/Watermelon and it's so delicious. So much so that I'm trying to wean myself off of it...LOL xoxo

I saw and answered this same question on one of the other sub-forums earlier. Coincidence!
My surgeon explained that acid forms a barrier at the top of the stomach (or I assume pouch too since I have a sleeve), and water cannot break through the acid to enter the stomach very quickly so it can sit there and (in my case at least) cause nausea. Putting something in the water acts as a surfactant (surfactants are compounds that lower the surface tension between two liquids) so the liquid passes through the acid into the stomach. Or some such thing anyway.
For me I could drink plain water fine before surgery. I wouldn't say I loved it but I'd drink about 84oz of mostly plain water without issue. But at times I would chug it. Now I can't chug. If I have plain water I will get behind because I forget about it. Something with flavor keeps it in my mind better. I like it so I want to continue sipping on it all day. So I don't have any physical aversion to water it's just so plain I plain forget about it. Crystal light or cold brew tea with some Splenda is what helps me get it in.
