I love to read art books; catalogs, biographies, period stuff - I'm there for it.  Currently I'm reading a take on modern art entitled What are you looking at?  Its interesting, almost funny and right up my alley.

Oh, that modern art books sounds like something I would like!  Because that's what I ask myself:  "What am I looking at?".  LOL

A non-art friend of mine recommended it and she really enjoyed it, so I thought I'd give it a try.  I'm familiar with most of the content, but it's still a fun read.  My library has it, but I just bought it for cheap from amazon and figured I'd keep it as a reference book for my students (I teach art and art history).

Here is a link to the artist overview of the book and a book review.

Hi Everyone,

Lets see the last book I read...I was suppose to read "All the Light We Cannot See" for my book club, but I got like 30 pages in and really didn't like it (everyone else really did though, so I'm in the minority there)..the last book I completed was A Thousand Splendid Suns, and that book I really liked although it was really sad.

Congrats to everyone who's seen scale movement!  I'm so jealous...my weight seems to be happy where it is, even though I'd like to lose a min of another 10 lbs...I'm just not sure that's realistic though :(  We'll see, I'm going to keep fighting the good fight.

Time since surgery: 17 months

B - 2 string cheeses and 1/2 Chobani Greek Yogurt with Oats (I did not like this at all, so I really only ate like 2 bites)

L - Work lunch, place tbd

D - Tofu egg salad with cucumber or leftover carne asada depending on how hungry I am after my hike tonight

W/V - On track (well I am now b/c the post reminded me :)

E - 5.5 mile hike tonight after work

Have a great Wed everyone!

Love your experiment! I wear black pants ALL the time....it's all I own. I can't wait to get into more color. But, it will probably be khaki or brown... lol.

Last "real" book I read was The Book Thief... never saw the movie. The book was good, though, albeit given the time period, was quite sad. I have a bad tendency to reread books... like over and over. I am not sure if it is laziness or what but I do. I am currently reading (embarrassed to say) an old Nora Roberts trilogy about a ghost. I do love those ghost, demon, vampire and end of the world type of fluff books. It is just an escape. But, they do have to be realistic... I mean I don't want to read about teenage vampires, just hot vampire fighters!

On a more less silly side, I do love to read cook books. I love old cook books, too... I found a PA Dutch cook book in an antique shop in PA years back that I love to pull out and look at.  "A good cook must have 7 sweets and 7 sours on the table"... lol, yeah, right. But, that is the way my Mom cooked... no wonder I have weight issues!!

My menu today:

B1: Tea and Sugar Leaf

B2: Yoplait Strawberry Cheesecake greek yogurt, 100 cal

L: 5 slices of Hillshire Farms Classic Farm Honey Roasted Turkey with a wedge of light Laughing Cow cheese and about 1.5 oz of mixed terakyi veggies (green giant)

S: 1 oz beef jerky

D: 3 oz. cooked shrimp, 1/4 cup of cucumbers

S: Strawberry Protein Ice Cream.... I made Choc Peanut Butter last Sunday... it was okay. Probably would have frozen better if I had followed the ice cream maker instructions.  Hopefully, I will do so this time!, will probably drink some tea before bed.

Vitamins and Water... started.  Exercise - pool time!!!

Everyone have a great day. And good luck, AV, on your interview tomorrow!!

I re-read my Stephen King all the time, especially his short stories.  And I typically read The Stand every summer.  For some reason that's always been my go-to "beach book".

I love The Stand. I read it originally the summer of 1980 about 1 week before the actual dates in the book... pretty chilling for a 17 year old!!!  I think they have taken the "year" date out of it now.
