What's on Your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
Awesomely, I was raised on King. My mom loved him and never put any kind of restrictions on his stuff. I think I was 9 or 10 the first time I read Night Shift. I did scare the **** out of myself, but I was undeterred! Fun fact: my mom taught 5th grade and she was actually my reading teacher. She used to read King's short stories to the class allll the time. That **** would never fly today!
Good morning, all!
I have been missing out on the post - this is MOVING week for me, plus catching up on work after gallivanting all over France last week, so needless to say, free time is at a premium.
The last thing I bought for myself was a CONDO. I'm beyond excited and terrified :)
My last book I read was incredible - it's called Leaving Time by Jodi Picoult. I read the entire thing on my flight from Montreal to Nice. I loved it, and I gave it to the woman sitting next to me.
My menu is sketchy at best. Food is dwindling and with my move on Friday, I can't really go grocery shopping. I tried the new Quest bar in mint chocolate chip yesterday for breakfast and I really liked it!
B: Tons of iced coffee with cream. Was too busy to eat.
L: I am roasting chunks of sweet potato in the toaster oven (a friend gave me a package this morning since she is headed out of town). I will have an Amy Lu gouda chicken burger from Costco as well.
S: Light and fit yogurt in banana cream, maybe with PB2
D: Same as lunch. Like I said, low on options here!
Totals will be around 1,400 calories, 60 protein, 90 carbs.
I did an hour on the elliptical and walked to and fro the gym, so I am already at 12,000 steps. My new goal is 15,000 steps a day and I am doing pretty well accomplishing that.
Honestly guys, I think back to two years ago, if I had to pack my whole apartment and move stuff up and down stairs, in this heat...it would have been IMPOSSIBLE. Instead, I am bouncing here, there, everywhere, and it doesn't exhaust me. It's a whole new world.
Have a great day, Kristen and all!
Sounds like everything is going great with your move! I hate moving. HATE. I told my husband if we ever move again he will be putting me up in a hotel until everything boxed, moved and unpacked. We almost killed each other the last time so I know my limits.
OMG with the heat yesterday, I almost had a breakdown. I would have killed someone, if someone had been around. Between going to the police station to get permit signs for my moving truck, to their printer not working and their attitude, to the eleventy billion degrees, to the fact that the amount of stuff I own appears to be multiplying...and of course my sinus meds are packed and taped up somewhere but who knows where...yeah, there could easily have been a homicide ;) Today is MUCH better.
And the weird thing is, I have a pretty minimalist apartment. I am as far from a hoarder as one can be. AND I made a huge donation of stuff to charity. AND I have no clothes older than six months. YET still, there is SO MUCH **** TO PACK! It's a mystery to me!
Good morning everyone! So. Cal. weather is beautiful today. Still on the hot side, but I'm loving the early morning sunshine. I'm part of a book club so I read pretty often. We're currently reading Beneath the Marble Sky by John Shor and so far it gets thumbs up!
Here's food:
Time since surgery: 13 months
B: Ground turkey with spinach and feta cheese
L: Leftover Tri Tip and Broccoli
S: Light and Fit and peanut butter (instead of my normal PB2, I'm going with actual peanut butter, higher in calories and fat but I'm going running after work and feel the need for a little something more to hold me over. The actual peanut butter seems to do the trick)
D: Lemon pepper salmon and stir fry veggies
TOTALS: Cal: 629 (low so I'll likely add something else); Protein: 76g; Carbs: 24g; Fat: 20g
