Good morning everyone! Or afternoon. My weekend was kind of boring. Getting ready for a July 4th party. And, I have a back bedroom that I am trying to reorganize and clean out. I HATE these types of projects! Oh well, it has to be done.

My bakery kryptonite is probably everything that everyone has listed so far... lol. No, pies are 1st with cake being a close second. Right now, I am doing okay with desserts because sugar doesn't agree with me so that's good. I am concerned about fall when apple pies and pumpkin pies are everywhere but I figure that I will experiment with different recipes and be able to enjoy some low sugar versions... like pumpkin protein shakes, mousses and what not.  Actually, the thought of anything sweet right now makes me kind of nauseated. I LOVE my pouch!!!

I did make protein ice cream over the weekend. I made it, licked the spoon, was impressed with how good it tasted, then put it in the freezer. I will eat some for snack this evening after dinner. This is what is different for me... before surgery, sweet things in my house would call to me and be on my mind all the time.  This just doesn't happen right now.  I hope it stays the same.

My menu today:

B1: Tea and Sugar Leaf

B2: 1.5 oz Kraft sharp cheddar cheese

L:  2oz grilled shrimp (dang, I just realized I forgot my little bit of tartar sauce!)

S: Yoplait Greek yogurt, strawberry cheesecake

D: 3 oz chuck eye steak, 1 tablespoon A-1 sauce, maybe some Green Giant teryaki veggies (spoonful, maybe)

S: Peanut butter chocolate protein ice cream, 1/4 cup

Totals:  Calories - 733, Protein - 65, Carbs - 36, Sugar -  28, Fats - 34

Vitamins and Water: Started, Walking, walking walking...

Everyone have a good day!

Highest weight - 440 lbs, Surgery weight - 395 lbs, Current weight - 291 lbs.

You had me a pumpkin pie!!!!!!!!!!! God I love pumpkin pie and all things pumpkin pie flavored!!  To help my pumpkin pie addiction I drink the "pumpkin pie" flavoured coffee when they bring it out in the Fall or the pumpkin pie flavoured coffee creamer. I can't get enough of it! LOL

Good luck on the 4th of July planning and bedroom makeover!  Just think once its done you & your guests can enjoy it!

I LOVE Pumpkin Spice Lattes!!  I saw online they make pumpkin spice syrup in sugar free.  I will definitely be getting that come fall.  I avoided it like the plague last fall but I doubt I will have the same level of will power this year :(

Hi ladies,

Very busy weekend!  Friday was my bday dinner with hubby, below is a pic from the restaurant. He told them it was my bday so they "surprised" me with a slice of ice cream cake.  I am not  a big fan of ice cream so I had about four bites and hubby ate the rest.

Saturday went to a bridal shower for one of my husbands cousins, it was a huge affair. Tons of food I could not have which is a blessing but also sucked because I was pretty hungry. Lucky I had packed "snack"s in my purse so I ate those.  But it was a great time.

ALL bakery items are my nemesis/kryptonite but especially birthday cake. The good old fashioned kind our Mom's made us as kids with a ton of icing to put us into a sugar coma even before WLS LOL LOL.  So I have to stay away, far away cuz I don't think I could stop myself.  Pre surgery I used to buy a cake from the bakery when my husband would go away on business and pretty much eat it for breakfast/lunch and dinner, and I loved every minute of it, that was hard to admit but I needed to say it.  So yes I stay away cuz that is what lead me to needing WLS!

Feeling really off today and I have a brutal headache. My eats are off too.

B: two cups of vanilla hazelnut coffee with 1% lactose free milk

S: Dannon Silhouette Peach yogurt

L: 3oz grilled bbq chicken over 1/4 cup salad greens and 2 tbsp of balsamic vinaigrette dressing

S: not sure, probably a Dannon Silhouette Vanilla yogurt

D: One bbq grilled turkey sausage (4oz) with 2 tbsp bbq sauce and 1/4 cup of mixed salad greens

S: fresh peach & a "Chai" flavoured protein shake made with 1% lactose free milk (trying the Chai flavour for the first time, will report back on how it is)

TOTALS: 812 calories, 59 carbs, 75 protein, 38 fat

V/W: vits done, calcium on alarms

Will go out for my lunch time run shortly and taking the dogs out when I get home so will get in 10 km today.

Have a wonderful Monday everyone!

Oddly I was never a bakery person.  Sure a brownie is delicious, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get anything like that.  (Salty carb abyss snacky stuff on the other hand, oh yeah.)

B - Cappuccino soy smoothie & 1/2 s roasted in shell peanuts

L - HEB greek 100 yogurt & turkey breast/cheese roll (grilled)

s - pickle, sf popsicles, beef jerky & decaf coffee w/ cream & sf fr vanilla

D - homemade Chili w/ 2 tbls fage 2% greek yogurt

I'm sorry to hear some among us are having a rough bit of it.  Outwardly I had a great weekend; alas, internally I was struggling.  I am coming up on my one year surgiversary (on Sat) and I have an appt with my surgeon tomorrow and I'm feeling a lot of self doubt.  I keep thinking I haven't lost enough and my malabsorption "window" is closing and I'm not going to be able to get to goal.  I am happy with my progress, and I'm trying to stay/be positive, but it doesn't always work.

In an effort to thwart the negativity I started logging everything on myfitnesspal.  I'd used it a few times to check in with my protein early on, but this is the first time I've actually kept it up all day.  I thought it would be tedious, but I'm on day 4 and at this point it knows my breakfast, lunch and snacks, so it's just a matter of entering dinners.  Its not much considering the piece of mind that comes with seeing the hard numbers telling me I am where I want to be with protein/calories.

I hope everyone has a productive and low-stress day!

Good Morning all! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. This weekend I worked everyday. I'm in the restaurant industry (just graduated Culinary school last year), so weekends are my busy time. Now today I'm going to enjoy my day off, and probably hit the beach!

Bakery Kryptonite…would probably have to be Cinnamon Rolls. The icing, the soft texture…ah. I'm pretty much drooling over here! lol. I've been working on a protein version of them but haven't quite mastered it yet.

Time since surgery: 4 years

B: 2 over-easy eggs, low-sodium bacon

L- Lentil Soup and a banana

S- String cheese

D- Pork chop and mashed cauliflower (tastes just like potatoes with a touch of butter and sour cream!)

E- Just taught a kickboxing class. And I'm about to go hiking with a friend.

Have a great day, all!!

-Steph
