I keep track of my protein in grams. Today I have had 87 grams, and yesterday I had 85 grams.

My target is 60-80 and I try to get as many grams over 60 as possible.

I average a little over 180.

6'3" tall, male.

Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.

I generally eat between 65 to 70 grams of protein per day. I am a 5'5'' female, so I stay toward the lower end of the recommended protein range.

My doc's recommendations are 60+ for girls and 80+ for guys.  I didn't know height was a factor because I'm a shorty.

My dietitian advises those who are short females to stick closer to 65 grams and those who are tall males to aim for the higher number, 80 or 85. I believe the idea is that the higher your maintenance weight will be, the more protein you should get each day.
