I am 12 days post op. I too was in tremendous pain when it came to transitioning from sitting/lying down to standing. Once I was up, I was ok - I would honestly say about 4 days out I was able to kick the pain pills. I don't look the loopiness, so I would only take them at night, but after about the 4th night, I didn't need them any more.  It does get easier, hang in there.  By the time I was 1 week post op I was able to get up on my own. There was still a little pain and discomfort, not torturous as before. My procedure was an open procedure, so I have a large section that is "glued" together.  I am wearing a brace-like thing around my gut that helps me feel like I"m not going to fall apart when I stand up.

The liquids will get easier too. I feel like I slept more than I was awake the first few days. Now that I walk more, it is easier to get my liquids in.  Good luck to you - it will get easier!
