How many ounces of water per hour??
Right after surgery, I timed myself to 2 ounces every 15 min. which adds up to 8 ounces every hour. Do this for 8 hours and that equals 64 ounces. Even now when I have trouble getting the water in I will line up my 4-5 bottles of water in the morning and make sure I drink then all by bedtime. Of course now I can drink a lot more at a time so it isn't as hard.
Dealing with constipation, I started drinking over 20 ounces of warm water first thing in the morning discovering water goes down easy when you wake up dry. It's nice to get in half the water requirement first thing. It's also nice to ease off water in the evening hours so getting up in the middle of the night isn't necessary. I never timed ounces per hour newly post-op-- just continually sipped water while following the nothing during or 30 minutes after. Today, water is everywhere--by the recliner, by the bed, by the computer, and a case in the car and entrance door (only bottled water for outings).
