I'm 10 weeks post op, my first month was the hardest, hang in there you feel better once you're able to eat regular food,  I did. Drinks lots of water!

Do you open your Prilosec and sprinkle it on like applesauce to take it? My doctor had me do that for 3 months post-op. I just took 40 mg in the morning before I ate anything. I can't say I really had issues. But I did work to get in all my fluids  and the first month I was on pureed foods only! You got to take small bites and chew very well. Measure your food. I can say I don't recall every knowing if I had enough because I was never hungry in the first place. That is why it was very important to only eat the amount they have told you to eat.....of course if you start showing signs that you are getting full stop even if you have not ate it all. I never had any issues with getting sick or bringing anything back up. I am now just past 3 months and can recall just once having issues a few weeks back and that was from chicken to dry and not chewed enough.

Give it time things will get better. Focus on protein shakes, cheese, cottage cheese, yogurts and things like that right now.

I ate a lot of tums with added c. Water made me sick so I drank a lot of room temp skim milk , a lot of sugar free Popsicles, sf jello , all to get my fluids in. Hope you feel better

I've been following your progress. I'm just a couple of weeks ahead of you. I had several weeks of queasiness post-op and was having trouble getting my water to 64oz. I'm still struggling with that goal. I was having trouble with my acid reflux which has gotten better and finding a way to get my water. Ginger tea worked for me too. I also found that warm first thing in the morning worked better than cold. Even now cold doesn't go down well. The nausea got better and now I only feel queasy when I don't get enough water or the dense protein doesn't sit well, usually too dry (chicken breasts & beef). Hang in there it will get better.

Carpe Diem!

Just wondering how you are doing shilo357?

You have gotten a lot of good suggestions, hopefully you have gotten a little relief.

Hang in there, you will eventually get past this stage and figure out how to keep your pouch feeling good or atleast not as grouchie!

I am a lot like Hala, 5 years post op and I still do better with warm or room temperature liquids. Cant tolerate breakfast first thing in the morning, I still start every day with a protein coffee.

I don't really have advice but I wanted to offer my support. If there are obvious triggers that really make you sick try to avoid those. Besides food itself that I ate; I know I was very sensitive to many smells/odors too. I just wanted to let you know that over time you will get over this initial hump. You will start to feel more like yourself but the 1st few months are a major adjustment period. You could also consult your Doctor's office for advice too. That's what they are there for. Good luck & hang in there. It will be worth it.
