Winning the fluid game

Since Rny surgery I haven't really been able to drink water easily I don't drink carbonated beverages, crystal light (burned out big time the first year),or caloric drinks except my beloved daily latte.

I ordered a fruit infused water bottle. Have ya'll seen these . It has a section in the middle to put fruit or whatever in it and then fill up with water. Today was blueberries. I'm also going to try cucumber and mint. Probably strawberries. The water doesn't taste much like what you put in it and you are not actually eating the fruit. For me it's just far enough from water to be wonderful.

Mine was about 8 bucks on amazon. I love it!

My friend has this. She also does a lot of cucumber in hers.

She loves it!

Glad you are having success.

I wonder what the carb count would be for tha****er... I can't drink water anymore since surgery- it make me feel so sick to my stomach and I know the artificial sweeteners aren't very good either, but that's what I'm left with. If the carbs stay low, maybe this would work in its place?

I don't know. You aren't eating the fruit. You could make it calorie free with cucumber or mint.

I put about 2 tbsp of blueberries in it. The water is barely changed taste wise but the color was pretty.

To me it would be such a small amount I'm not worried about it.

I am SO excited, I ordered one similar to this on the View's "Must have Monday" specials lol - It should be here next week. I'm 1 week post op and am so tired of plain water already, and the Crystal lights are decent - but not as yummy as cucumber water would be! I'm going to check with my NUT to see if i can put lemon in it - since I"m not eating fruits yet. I absolutely LOVE infused water - this is definitely going to be my life saver.

I'm glad you are liking your new bottle and that it is helping.  I just wanted to let you know something that has helped for me.  I bought a glass bottle and put lemon and orange oil (do Terra) in Propel Strawberry-kiwi water.  It doesn't need any type of sweetner.  The Lemon oil is suppose to help with kidney stones so I thought it was a win win.  If I decide I need a little different taste/flavor I add a little MIO.  Now in order to use the oils you need a glass bottle.  Keep up the good work with water intake! Hope you have a wonderful day

I bought 2 from OpenSky. I too can't tolerate plain water but the infused water is just enough for me to get my fluids in. My NUT told me that after RNY our pH changes which is why it is difficult for some of us to tolerate plain water. She said the addition of fruit or Crystal Light is just enough change in the pH for us to get it down. They have been a life saver.

Carpe Diem!
