oxygenation saturation level

I had the RNY on May 4th. I went to my surgeon for an appointment today. I am almost 6 weeks out. He said my oxygen saturation level was only 93 so he sent me for an x ray and blood work. I am a little concerned. Did anyone else have this problem?

I haven't had the problem -- just wanted to wish you the best.  My husband was in the hospital for some issues he was having, and his level was 93 - doctor said that level was okay, but if it went any lower he would have to have some tests.  Sounds like you're borderline...but seems like your doctor is being prudent in having some testing done.

I don't know about now but when I was in the hospital every time I fell asleep the monitor would start beeping because my level would drop.  They would come in and tell me to breathe.  I was breathing.  It was annoying that's for sure.  

I had similar but it was my low heart rate setting off the alarm. Nurse asst told me to roll onto my side. I'm still here 8 mos later so I guess I'm ok!

i think it's good your doctor is being proactive!  Did they check your oxygen level at your appt?

I certainly hope they referred you to get evaluated for sleep apnea!!

Actually I forgot about this until now.  I was snoring terribly prior to surgery and my husband says I don't now. Going to the dr on Friday so will check with him.  thanks, Denise

I had this problem while I was in the hospital but haven't had it since I have been home.  Good luck and let us know what the results are.
