7 days post op - excessive gurgle

Good morning.  I am 7 days pot op and have been following my diet plan to a "T", with the exception of the amount of fluids. I'm getting a lot, just not 8 cups..yet. I am working up to it.  Yesterday afternoon, I noticed a little more movement in my "insides" - like when I sip some water, I swear I can almost hear it go straight down. This is a good thing because in the beginning I was swollen and anything I drank sat in the esophagus a bit too long. As the day went on, the gurgling (stomach growling sounds/feelings) continued...and intensified.  I thought I should eat something a bit more "solid" than jus****er/tea/protein drink should be consumed, so I ate some cottage cheese. 2 oz. .. I didn't sleep a wink last night because my stomach gurgled and gurgled and gurgled.  It's yelling at me as we speak - has anyone else ever had this happen?  I'm not scheduled for my first week post op appointment until tomorrow afternoon, and I will ask him then, but I'd like to hear from others that may have gone through this.  It's a bit annoying!

My stomach makes noises all the time.  It is really loud too.  It does not hurt or anything just sounds funky.

3 months out and I gurgle & belch pretty constantly--I belt out some weird sounds, especially when I lie on my left side at night it becomes non-stop!

Mine makes the most awesome noises even 4 years later.  I swore I could even feel food moving down the system from start to finish.  Don't worry as long as you are feeling well, your doctor says you are ok, and there is no pain...

My hubby swears that I'm always hungry and starving myself or something. He tells me constantly - even over the phone! - that he can hear my rumbly tummy. Sadly, seems to be one of the side effects of surgery.

I'm only 4 months out, but I rarely have any rumblings.  Maybe for an hour a week if that, but it's just gas.

I was going to say that at only 7 days out, it might still be bloating from all the air they pumped in you during surgery?

GOAL REACHED! 170 lbs lost...

A noisy stomach is normal.  Don't mistake the gurgling for hunger....it's not!  Don't feed the noisy beast.  Stay on your program.
