What's On Your Monday Menu, RNYers?
Good morning all,
A mostly uneventful weekend for me. Was a slug on Saturday since I couldn't sleep Friday night. Took a nice nap Saturday afternoon and went to bed early. Went clothes shopping with almost 15 yo and spent way too much money.
Today is my 30th wedding anniversary. I can't possibly be that old, but alas, I am. We are not going out to celebrate because I'm not ready for going out to eat and it would be ridiculous to spend the money. However, I'm planning for next year, I want to go away for our 31st.
B: Premier Protein Shake
L: Veggie Burger (they make life easier)
D: Chili (yes, I'm going to cook tonight, it's only happened a few times since surgery, thank goodness hubby can cook)
S: Probably babybel light
Have a great day everyone.

I have had Quest bars make me feel wonky. Sugar alcohols give me such pain. I thought I was having problems with my stomach again. It's super windy here today. But nice and sunny. My weekend was good. I got to ride an elephant so I was happy.
Brunch coffee egg whites and ham steak
S:Yogurt with some blueberries
D:Omelet from a diner
S:Yogurt
Vitamins are in water is going down.
Have a great day.
No wind here today... if it gets too bad, head for that storm cellar!
Quest bars... you know when I was losing weight for my surgery, I loved them! They were filling, tasted great, etc. But since surgery, they are just so-so. Of course I can only eat 1/2 at a time now but they just don't taste as good. That whole "your tastes change after surgery" thing is true for me. I will be craving something; work out a way to have it and stay on track, and it never seems to be as good as I thought it would be. Plus I dump on sugar so I do avoid sugar at all costs, most of the time. And, sugar alcohols bother me if there are too many in an item. Russell Stover candy is just as bad as a Snickers to me. LOL, I say that but I haven't had a Snickers since surgery... I would be home bound for days if I did that!
Milk and sugar alcohols are things I have to do in major moderation.
My menu today:
B1: Tea and Stevia and Truvia baking blend (carbs no so bad then)
B2: 1 oz Pistachios
L: 3 homemade baked meatballs (used ground turkey, 93/7 hamburger, and a little Jimmy Dean sausage, almond flour, egg and Parm cheese and spices... turned out good), a little Hunts 4 cheese sauce, roasted zucchini with a drizzle of evo
D: 3 oz. talapia
Snacks: blackberry pie greek yogurt, protein hot chocolate

Everyone have a great day!!!
Good morning everyone. I am trying to get this in quickly before my first meeting. I am usually very late to the party, so trying to do better today. Had a very nice weekend. I was in Seattle at my friend's mother's memorial. It was a beautiful celebration of life. It was in my friend's back yard and the weather was spectacular - very unusual for early June. I worked the bar, and it gave me a chance to visit with almost everyone.
Back in Portland today, and it will be 93 degrees today. Freaky weird for this time of year, but I will take it. I need to do some heavy duty watering this evening, though. My hanging flower baskets looked sad this morning.
I have my Dad tonight, so my menu is not very complete. It will probably be some sort of fish on the grill, but I need to get to Whole Foods after work and see what looks good. Shrimp might be yummy.
Time since surgery: Almost 7 months
B: BBQ chicken salad
S: Light and Fit Greek Yogurt - Cherry
L: Bulgogi over lettuce (didn't have time to pack a lunch, so this is a pretty good choice from the deli in the building)
S: Light String Cheese
