Somewhere I goofed up.

OK.... here it goes, me rambling again.... but I know I need to ramble to get it out and own up to it.  As of week 6 on my Surgeon's plan, I was able to eat crackers.  Well, I love my carbs... so I found myself eating TONS of tuna salad and chicken salad so I could eat it on crackers.  Well.... somewhere I goofed up as I have been getting in my protein, but I did notice that I am carb heavy also.  Someone pointed this out before, but it never "HIT" me till today.  So for the next three days.... Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I plan on detoxing from carbs..... Protein ONLY.  I know that the carbs in yougurt and milk are OK, but I am trying to steer clear of them also for a few days.

Just had to own up to it.

Thanks!!

Your chicken or tuna salad would be great in a lettuce wrap.  I have also used sliced cucumbers.  Crackers are DANGEROUS because we can eat a ton of them.

Yes, I agree, very dangerous for me.  Sliced cucumbers with tuna or chicken salad sounds good to me.  I'll try that.  Thanks for the idea.

I really like the cucumber idea Rocky. Never thought of that..but it would totally work.

I am so sick of lettuce after years of dieting. This cucumber idea is primo!

You can also scoop up tuna and chicken salad with pieces of green, red or yellow peppers. They have a nice crunch too!

I've been looking to try a recipe that calls for slices of zucchini dried in a dehydrator or oven to make little chips. Might be another alternative to crackers for you :)

OMG!

OMG!

I have a dehydrator and was making crackers with onions and a mixture of whole and ground flaxseed. This is way better and less caloric idea.

Thank you for posting this.

Way to be accountable. Good for you!!

Once you add dairy back, make some cheese crisps for crunch. Just melt little piles of shredded cheese on parchment paper in your oven. Top em with chives or other spices.  Remove from the oven when they are brown.  They get crispy like a cracker with no carbs of the starchy variety.
