Had Colonoscopy Yesterday
This is just info for anyone that has to have a colonoscopy POST-RNY. Instead of having to drink that gallon of Prescription 'nitro-explosive' liquid the night before the procedure (because of course there's no way any one of us could drink a gallon of anything in 1-2 hours), they gave me an alternative prep method for the day before.
I had to start at Noon on Sunday with 4 Dulolax tablets, then at 2:00 I had 3-6 hours to get 15 doses of Miralax down, mixed with 64 ounces of Crystal Lite. I actually got it all down in 5 hours - I thought I was going to burst my little pouch wide open.
Anyway, the fireworks didn't begin until almost 5:30pm, but by then I was in so much pain, the bloating was horrible. Finally, the damn burst and I think every single drop of fluid in my system shot out like a fire hose. It wasn't pretty, or fun at all!!
However, long story short, no polyps and no cancer - just some moderate diverticulosis that I have to watch out for. I'm okay!
Yikes! Glad everything is ok. I turn 50 in November and I am NOT looking forward to that test!
