Finally relaxing a bit after my f/u with my NUT

I had my first dietitian follow-up last Friday, and she made me feel a lot better about the primary things I was stressing over -- feeling hungry all the time and worrying I was eating too much. Seeing how few calories people on here eat 2-4 weeks post-op, I started trying to limit myself to 600-700 and found I was hungry all the time. Her insightful response? I'm hungry because I'm not eating enough food (I know, astonishing, right?). She said 500-700 might be right for some people, but it isn't for me, as evidenced by my metabolic study and the fact that I lost 80 lbs pre-op by eating 2000-2200 calories a day. I'm eating 750-1000/day now (aiming more for 1/3-1/2 cup portions instead of 1/4 cup) and I'm feeling MUCH better. I finally broke a week-long stall that started in week 2. I also did my first 20+ mile bike ride on Sunday!

Also, my husband has been a VSG superstar -- yesterday was 2 weeks for him, and he's already down over 30 lbs. He's under 400 for the first time in his adult life. Wish I could have gotten that kind of immediate jump!

I read your entire post twice trying to figure out why you thought you f/u-ed at the NUT visit. Then I realized f/u stands for follow/up.  This reply is for those who aren't as "brilliantly sharp" as me to eventually figure it out.

Haha sorry! I didn't even think about the non-medical version of that abbreviation!
