1,000 Days
Today I hit my 1,000th consecutive day of logging food on MyFitnessPal. I've been at a steady weight for almost 2 years, and I would absolutely be eating more and regaining if I wasn't logging all my food.
I weigh everything, and log every bite. The good, the bad, and the ugly. While I was losing, I stayed close to my daily goal, every day. Since then, I don't aim for the same number every day, but aim for my weekly total. A couple of times, it took me until the end of the month to get back to goal.
Many people succeed without logging. That's great. But I can't. I've had a few 4,000 calorie days. Trust me, it's really easy to do, once surgery is in your rearview mirror. But I didn't try to lie to myself, logged it all, and got back on plan.
If you are in a really long stall, or starting to regain, try weighing your food, and logging everything. I see a lot of people refusing to track closely -- they want to be "normal," and think it takes too much time and trouble. Well, tracking is my new normal, takes almost no time, and is a new habit I developed after surgery. It really has made a huge difference in my life.
Surgery helped me lose the weight I needed to lose. But I can still eat a lot in the course of a day. Tracking is what helps me keep it off.

My hero!! You are doing an awesome job, Grim. I can also at a ton but choose not to most of the time. Taking responsibility is key.
It always amazes me when people complain about regain, swearing they are doing everything right, but refuse to track their food. My mom is one of them. She truly believes weight loss surgery was supposed to do all the work, not her. Sigh...

You were MY role model Laura. I was exclusively on MFP, where you told me about OH. It's because of you I'm here. So whenever someone calls me a meanie pants, the blame is yours.

I bow to you! This is fantastic!
To log every bite every day. Wow. I was good for my first 2 years. Then not so much. But if I start to gain I start logging again. Usually only takes a couple of days for me to clearly see what I have been doing. I keep logging until I get back on track. Then I will fade off again. I need to work on my commitment. I will use you as an example and inspiration.
