Got a 2 day hosptial stay after Spinal surgery in couple weeks. Taking these, sound right?

I am going into have spinal surgery on my neck in a could of weeks. It is at a VA hospital and I do not think they will have a RNY gastric bypass diet available. I am over 2 1/2 out of the RNY so I don't need the teeny-tiny tablespoon portions as if it was during 1st few month out. So I figured the closest they would have available would be the Diabetic diet choice. It would be the more careful with starchy carbs and sugar free options my plan suggests. But I am also going to take some RTD-GNC Lean Shake 25 (only shake I can tolerate anymore) At least that one has the vitamins for meal replacement, instead of purely protein shake. I also got a couple of small baggies of almonds in case. This is 1st time away from home where I could not pack myself ice chest with my real go to for those sneak up on you eat needs that does not revolve around another's schedule. Stuff like reduced fat Colby jack sticks, some type of fruit (for protein& carb boost) or Light and Fit Strawberry Cheesecake Greek Yogurt. So I figured the RTD shakes and some healthy nuts. I could not think of handy that didn't have to be kept on ice that I can do for myself if the need arose between the planned meals. Do these sound about right?

Your plan sounds good to me.  Good luck with the surgery.

Thanks for the reply, and the luck. I think like most people, I just got nervous with the "what if I need nutritional support that they don't have available." Situations like that are very scary. And can happen to RNYers at times pretty quickly when the body gets stressed.

I think your plan sounds fine. When I have had surgery since my RNY and the doctor has ordered a regular diet, I have always asked the nurse to request a change to the diabetic diet and there are plenty of choices of things that I can eat.

I hope your surgery goes well!

Thank you so much for the reply. The idea came from reading all the threads, and may have even been one of yours. I've seen (and think "spoke before") .
