Can I eat leftover Nutrisystem food after Gastric Bypass
I have a whole month's supply of leftover Nutrisystem food that I'd hate to throw away. And I don't want to insult anyone by offering it to them! Can it be incorporated into a post-gastric bypass diet? I mostly have the lunch replacement bars which are supposed to be high protein, low sugar. Some of the pasta dinners and lunches.
Would love some guidance!
My advice is not to eat them if they have more grams carbs than protein. I would avoid them entirely because they are highly processed. Generally, you want food that has at least one gram protein for every ten calories. Part of post op life is learning how to throw away food you can't or shouldn't eat.

Just to let you know, I'm almost 11 yrs out, and I still have trouble consuming pasta (which I hardly ever try to do). My advice to you, is exactly what everyone else said, sell them, donate them, give them away, but don't eat them. The way you start your journey after WLS is very important as to how it will work for you. Good luck!

Thank you for that information. I'm starting week 4 this week and the surgeon's instructions says I can start introducing pasta. I'd be perfectly fine not being able to eat pasta so good to know it's a challenge for some. I decided NOT to even try to eat the Nutrisystem and will place an ad on CraigsList. I appreciate yours ... and everyone's insight!
I can't imagine any surgeon or NUT in their right mind suggesting you eat pasta right now, three weeks out. I don't necessarily want to suggest that he/she is wrong, but... he/she is WRONG!
I am not a nutritionist of course... but someone who has a lot of success and a bit of knowledge behind me to back up my opinions. Your mileage may vary...

PS: I remember back in the day selling quite a bit of leftover Nutrisystem stuff on Craigslist. I met the buyer in a busy retail parking lot, and felt quite safe.

Eh, I think I'd focus more on "real" food and not the packaged crap from Nutrisystem (been there, tried it (years ago), raised my blood pressure)...A cleaner eating lifestyle is more in your future :)
