Today is three weeks out from RNY and i have pretty deep pain on my side still, but mainly while im sitting or laying on it. It does not hurt when im standing; I have my follow up with my surgeon on Wednesday, but just curious when everyone felt better?

Thanks in advance

I felt pretty well after 2 weeks, although still pretty week overall.  But I did have a twinge or two in the 3rd and 4th weeks.  When something worried me, I called my surgeon and he always had good suggestions.

I had pain in my side for about five weeks, but that is probably not typical.

I'm a month out and have significant pain still, but I also had a bad child with a horrible cough that aggravated the pain something awful.

I remember that pain - and it would rear its head just every so often right through the first couple of months.

I am just starting my 4th week out and have noticed that I still have pain when I am sitting too long or riding in a car. My pain is mostly on my center to right side.  I can't sleep on either side yet as it still feels really uncomfortable.  I will say that the last few days I have been more mobile as far as being able to bend over to pick things up without much pain.  I can't wait to get to the next stage where there isn't any pain and I'll feel more "normal".

I'm still tender in between the belly button incision and the large left incision. I had my three-month checkup last week, and the PA told me it can be a (as she put it) "boo-boo area" for up to a year. So I just make sure to move my waistband off it whenever I can.
