Has any one experienced low heart rate problems after weight loss from gastric bypass surgery. I have lost 287 pounds since surgery in 2012 and now am experiencing problems with low heart rate to the point of feeling like I going to pass out and am seeing cardiologist tomorrow 5/28.

I had this same problem, it turned out that I was taken a BP med that was making it low

Yes, my heart rate dropped quite a bit, but the only serrors problem it causes is that when I take heavy duty pain meds (e.g., while in the hospital after my gallbladder, removal, my hernia repair, and my knee replacement surgeries) my heart rate drops to the point that the alarms go off and they make me limit my pain meds!

I also have low blood pressure now (it was right at 120/80 before I lost 190 pounds and now it is usually 90-something/ 60-something), so between the lower heart rate and the lower BP, I do sometimes get lightheaded if I stand up too soon or if I been over for too long, and I get very dizzy sometimes if I take any meds that further slow my heart rate or lower my BP (things like mild muscle relaxers or cold meds) but those are pretty minor issues.

I hope your cardiologist can help.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

Lower heart rate and blood pressure are extremely common after surgery. The low BP is likely what's making you dizzy. Have them check it when you are sitting or lying down, then IMMEDIATELY on standing. If it drops, you have orthostatic hypotension. It's pretty easy to work around, and diminishes over time.

Yes, my heart rate is low.  During my ablation (a little over a month ago), the anesthesiologist said that my heart rate had dropped to 40.  She said it's common for runners and people who exercise vigorously (I have no idea if this is true).  Best to see the doctor and be checked out.  I also have low blood pressure now.  Last time it was 80/58.  I've tried adding a little more salt, and am definitely not dehydrated...good luck!
