Just wanted to say thank you to all *****sponded by reaching out and helping me calm my fears and anxiety and answering my questions about my upcoming surgery which is tomorrow.  I have surfed this site daily for 6 months now and what I've  learned is invaluable.  I have been re- reading those who posted a response to my questions during my pre- op this week and it has alleviated my fears.  This morning I woke and am calm and clear headed about tomorrow.  Still frightened a bit but I now know thats normal.  Thanks again everyone!

Best of luck!  You will be so happy that you made this life changing decision.  Being frightened is perfectly normal, relax and enjoy your journey!

Wishing you well.  One of the things that helped calm me was knowing I had the right to back out up until the very last second before being wheeled into surgery.  When that time came, the surgeon met me outside the operating room and said, "this will give you fifteen more years you would have never seen otherwise."  I think I said something like, "Ok, I'll hold you to it."

You will be just fine tomorrow. And you will be so glad you have taken control of your life and your health. I am post op about 33 months and down about 150 pounds and living a life I never knew I could. I went from being out of breath going down my basement steps to walking about six miles every day. I'll be praying for a speedy recovery and an amazing journey for you to a great healthy life! Keep us posted and ask any questions you may have too!
