Chai tea recipe
The main other spice is Cardamon - you can buy seeds or pods. I would buy seeds and then grind them even finer in a coffee grinder. if you are going with powdered ice tea. Sometimes recipes have ginger or vanilla too, depending on your tastes, but it is not chai without the cardamon. Personally I would boil black tea in water with the crushed cardamon pods and cinnamon sticks. Use double or more tea bags to make a concentrate. Keep it in the fridge then if you want a chai protein smoothie... I would put in the blender equal parts concentrate, and milk, scoop of vanilla protein powder and ice. Add more sweetener later if needed. Blend it up... mmm makes me want one :)

Protein Hot Chai Mix
6 scoops vanilla protein powder
1.5 cups non-fat powdered milk
3/4 cup instant unsweetened tea mix
3/4 cup Splenda
1t. cinnamon
1t. ground ginger
1t. ground cloves
1t. cardamon
Mix all dry ingredients in bowl until well blended. Add 1/2 cup of mixture to mug and add either splash of cold milk or water -- stir to create smooth paste (so you don't get lumpy protein powder). Add 8oz ho****er and mix well. You can top with Light Redi Whip and a sprinkle of chai spice or drink it naked. (The drink is naked, not you.)
Recipe makes 7 half-cup servings. Calculation below is without the "splash of milk" when you're mixing the tea. If you use RediWhip -- it adds about 20 calories.

I use the SF Chai tea concentrate from this link davincigourmet.sugar-free-chai-tea-concentrate-750ml-glass-p -3388.aspx with vanilla protein powder, and vanilla SF almond milk and its really good. I got the original recipe from Nikki's Bariatric Foodie book, although she said use some butterscotch SF pudding too, I haven't gone that far yet, and I like it with just the syrup...
I found the recipe for Vanilla Chai Smoothie
