So eager to start purees tomorrow!

2 weeks of a very restrictive pre-op diet. 1 day of clear liquids before surgery. 2 weeks of full liquids. I am so sick of protein shakes and soup, and SO eager for a few bites of the egg salad that's in my fridge and ready to go! I'm beyond ready for some food I can CHEW -- very thoroughly, I might add!

I hope it's everything I want it to be, lol. And I guess I'll see if I can keep it down! My NUT's rule for purees is that everything has to be the consistency of cottage cheese, but eggs are specifically on the list, and I make egg salad with Greek yogurt so it's pretty mushy.
Every little step forward is so exciting. I get to start purees on Thursday and cannot wait. Egg salad sounds so yummy.
Let us know how you do! Keep up the good work!

Strangely, I did fine with egg salad and cottage cheese, but overdid it on hummus and felt really sick. I guess it's not necessarily the level of pureed-ness that determines what you can and can't handle!
Hooray! God I spent at least 5 days before the puree stage just researching and planning my puree menus. It was a glorious day!
Go slow and enjoy the tastes and the sensation of eating. Hope your husband's surgery goes smoothly as well (isn't it today? Or did it already happen?)

Haha that's exactly what I did too! At couple hour intervals today, I did fine with a scrambled egg, some cottage cheese, and some egg salad, which I thought was pretty brave sitting in the hospital waiting room (my husband's surgery got pushed back from last Monday to today). Yet it was plain hummus of all things that made me nauseous! I ate the same amount of it I'd eaten of the other things (1/4 cup), but I think that was just too much for a "condiment" type food.
