What's on Your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?

Hey-o!  Happy Hump Day, or as it's known here in my office "Chinese Day".  I swear, my coworkers talk about and think about food more than any group of people I've ever known.  Most of them order out lunch every day and discuss where they're going to order from and what the specials are, etc. all morning.  They always order Chinese on Wednesdays, though, and a couple of them are talking about the menu right now.  I think I'm just hyper aware of these kinds of discussions at this point and feel a mix of jealousy and sadness at the same time; jealous, because I love (loved?) a good Singapore Mei Fun and sadness because a lot of these people could stand to make better food choices.  Judgmental?  Maybe, but I'm working through some food and emotional issues right now, so there you go.

Wow.  Way to bring the room down, Kristen.  LOL  How about I lighten it up and ask my Question of the Day!!  *ahem*  Who here has met someone famous?  My brother, because he's a stagehand in NYC, meets famous people on the regular and I hate him for it.  I've seen famous people but the only one I've ever "met" was Ethan Hawke, and that's only because I saw him in a play at Lincoln Center and my brother introduced me backstage.  He was taller than I thought and a little bit dirty.  LOL

Time since surgery:  10 months

B:  coffee and a Lean Cuisine breakfast sandwich.  I bought a new creamer last night that I'm eager to try out:  So Delicious Almond Milk creamer; only 5 cals a TB.  I am about to go into the kitchen and make myself a cup and will report back if it's any good!

S:  Pistachio thinaddictives with Laughing Cow.  And since there's a Butterball turkey stick that's been sitting on my desk for a week, all lonely, I think I'll eat him, too.

L:  Buffalo chicken salad w/pork rinds and a cheese stick

D:  I'm making big and little eat a frozen pizza, so I'll have a HB egg with a couple ham/cream cheese/pickle rollups and call it a day.

I was up early this morning going to see my mom with my daughter and her friend. It should be interesting. They made a play list of music to ride in the car with me. I am sure I will really like it or I will be like next.

I totally get about the food obsessing thing. We go out to lunch on Fridays so I am always thinking what I am going to get. So one day I asked him while we were riding to work what he was thinking about and he said what he was going to have for lunch he is only 158 pounds so I felt better when he said that he was thinking about lunch.

. One thing that keeps me grounded when I don't eat somethings anymore I think about how I feel. This can be a very emotional journey at times.

I have met Natalie Maine from the Dixie Chix not so famous anymore. I met her in Disney world. I went up to her and told her I liked her music and walked away. I didn't want to bug her.

I met Martha Stewart. I met Gayle King when I lived in CT. She was shopping for a present for a kids birthday. She was very nice.

B:Coffee then more coffee/eggs

L:Chinese food from where I worked when I was 15

D:Steak with salad

S:Cheese sticks or protein bar for the car ride.

Vitamins are in. My flower beds are watered. I am going to take a nice walk today it is beautiful out.

Have a great day.

Good morning,

Took today off after working all day yesterday, I was worn out and in pain.  Still have not heard from the surgeon for a date for hernia surgery.

I have met a few famous people over the years.  For many years I worked for Boston law firms, one of them had an "entertainment group"  I never met, but spoke on the phone to Leslie Nielsen as he was set to star in a film written by one of our clients.  Marion Ross (Happy Days) was also a client. Working in those firms I also met lots of local politicians, Paul Tsongas, Michale Dukakis, etc.   But my biggest famous person that I met was Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, he was on a booze cruise out of Boston Harbor with a radio station that we listened to back in the 1980's.  I was standing behind him when a seagull decided to bless me with a dropping on my brand new designer sweater I was wearing.

I also have had my photo taken with Dustin Pedroia of the Boston Red Sox when I worked in the corporate office of Stop & Shop.  Maybe I can dig that one up for Photo Friday if I can figure out how to load photo on here.

B:  Premier Protien Shake

L:  1/2 cup Hormel Turkey Chili

S:  Mini Babybel Light

D: 3 oz Shrimp

S:  SF Jello pudding

Cals: 441  Protein: 66    Carbs: 23  Fat: 10  Sugar: 3

Hernia pain is horrible. I am sorry you are going through this. If it gets really bad I would call your doctor.

Verdict:  So Delicious almond milk creamer is gross and I ruined a perfectly good cup of coffee.

Oh good gawd, I worked in an office like that for a few years.  They had a large envelope that contained all of the menus of the local eateries. Every. Single. One. The big "lunch decision" started at about 10:30 AM every day. Everyone gathered at the common table, the envelope was emptied, menus were examined and debated, specials were deliberated, an office order was written, a driver/picker-upper was appointed and money was collected.  It was all very organized and fairly efficient. You would have thought we were in a court-of-freakin-law. This daily process also assisted me in efficiently packing on an additional 50 pounds to add to the other 100 or so I had to lose. LOL

P.S. I get a kick out of your questions-of-the-day.

I guess I live a sheltered life too as I have never met anyone famous. I think we all have food issues of some sort,AV. I had to ban granola from my house just recently. I had it to put on my yogurt for my bedtime snack but found it was making me crave it even more. Found myself grabbing a handful during the day too so it is off the grocery list now! It is downright cold here today at 48. Weatherman says we may get to 50 so I pulled a sweater out of my winter box. Lily and I have done our three miles st the park already and I will do another 2.5 miles on the treadmill and 25 minutes on the bike too. Post op 33.5 months and weight at 118.2 today. Here's the eats: B 1/2 c steel cut oats with nuts and half a banana with peanut butter L 31/2 oz chicken with cheese and hummus with pepper strips D 31/2 oz rib eye with 1/2 c pan seared Brussels sprouts S Greek yogurt with nuts. On track with fluids and vitamins too. Have a great day full of amazing choices everyone!
