What's on Your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
She used to say things like she was going to show it to her dresser so they can match it. She would also quip about soon enough she'd have enough little curls to make a wig. I have no idea what she actually did with it. The most I remember about her was she would wear those flowy dresses that had no form and were gauzy and scratchy and big floral prints, over white pants and shirts. And the worst perfume ever. It might have smelled good in normal doses, but it was WAY over the top how much she would put on. her and my grandmother were very alike. Similar senses of humor, the way they acted you'd think they knew each other forever and grew up together. they even gave my grandmother and grandfather an old Pontiac chieftain that they owned when my grandfather totaled his car. It was weird, and I wish I had been more cognizant of what was going on. I was only 5-7 at the time. But I love the old girl and remember her fondly.
Good morning everyone,
I haven't posted for awhile, but I have been trying to drop by and read the daily threads. I've been traveling the past couple of weeks for business and pleasure, and the rest of the time it seems like my days have been booked with back-to-back meetings. Lot's of business lunches and dinners, which makes menu planning a challenge. I have managed to get through it without too much damage.
I was at a wedding over the weekend, and there were buffets at the wedding reception and another reception the next day. I was amazed at how people loaded their plates. Even the skinny girls had it piled high. Sort of hit my gag reflex (and my judgement reflex). I had to mentally back myself off. I am the last person that has any right to judge how other people eat.
I've met a few sport stars over the years, mostly from local professional teams. The most famous, however, was meeting Donny Osmond in the 70's. I had such a crush! I got a kiss on the cheek from his younger brother, Jimmy. Pervey yes, but a thrill none the less.

I live an extremely sheltered life, in a really small "city" looks more like a town, so I have unfortunately never met someone famous unless you include polititions like Gabrielle Giffords or John McCain or GEN David Petraeus. I have a few singers and actors I would love to meet though, will probably never happen but it's nice to hope for!! LOL Anyways, hope everyone is doing well on this wonderful hump day.

Hi all! As for the office food party thing... this morning I had to attend a seminar at Mimi's restaurant and it was my first real restaurant challenge. They had a continental breakfast menu that was about to kill me! Buttery crescents the size of softballs, blueberry muffins the size of small volley balls!! Delicious fresh fruit like grapes and sliced oranges (still not approved for that yet) and giant bowels of oatmeal big enough to feed a horse. 20+ oz sized glasses of orange juice and giant cups of creamy lattes. I was at the first seat of the long table and watched that stuff go by and get delivered by the truckloads.
I was good and had jus****er, thank you very much.
And this fits right in here at this site - the only famous person I've met was jack LaLane. Okay, I was just a kid, but my Mom was gushing all over him and he and his dog, (Jeopardy Question: "Okay, I'll take Jack LaLane trivia for $200, Alex -- This was the name of his dog)... were fun to meet.

Instead of counting your calories which is fabulous that you are aware. Count your protein grams and total carbs for the day instead or in addition. They are the totals you should concentrate on more.

Confession time...I'm a bit of a self proclaimed groupie. I love to try and meet celebrities. Remember I'm Canadian so there are a lot of them on my list. I've met and if possible had my pic taken with Gordon Lightfoot, Rita McNeil, Stompin Tom Connors, I kissed Davy Jones (just like Marcia Brady lol) Marty Stuart (he wasn't very friendly) David Suzuki, Emerson Drive, Blackjack Billy, Doc Walker, Ethan Hawke, comedian John Pinette (he was so sweet!) Alan Doyle of Great Big Sea (love him!) but my main claim to fame was when I was 19 I "partied" with Burton *******s from the Guess Who. My sister and I got on stage with the Wilkinsons. My boyfriend works at our local theatre so I sometimes get the inside info on who's coming. Great memories.
