I'm going to be on it for at least a year. I was expecting to come off of Prilosec at my 6 month appointment, but my surgeon kept me on it. I see him next at the one year mark, and I'll ask about it then.
Cleveland Clinic keeps all WLS patients on an acid reducer for 6 months after surgery. It's been shown to lessen the chances of ulcers in the critical healing time.
