Terrible Morning: Pills keep getting stuck

First it was the B-vitamin, so I had to start cutting it in half. Then, the Actigall started bothering me. It would sit there for a bit before it grudgingly when down. But today it was the zinc, which never bothered me before. I had the worst case of the foamies yet, and the only thing I took was the zinc. It seems like it is slowly getting more difficult to swallow pills, and I don't know how concerned I should be about this. I haven't been struggling with food, just pills, and this has been happening over the course of a few weeks.

Oh no! Sorry to hear about that. The one thing that seems to help me with pills is taking them with warm decaf hot tea-not sure why but it helps me.

I crush all my hard pills with a pill crusher and mix them in a little yogurt. I also use a gel cap stool softener and put a hole in it and squeeze it into the yogurt. The first bite might taste yucky, but it all goes down.

not sure what type of B-vitamin you are taking, but I use a sublingual B12. You let that one dissolve under your tongue.

I take a b-complex 50. If I switch to a sub-lingual B12, then I would still have to take another pill to get all of the other b vitamins. I've been thinking about it though because at least the pill would be smaller.

Wow sorry to hear.  Are you able to swallow them but then after the fact you get the stuck feeling?  Or is it literally getting stuck in your throat on the way down?

I swallowed the pill fine, but I could still feel it sitting there. I didn't think it was really stuck at first, but then I started getting the foamies more than a half hour later. All I had other than the pill this morning was some protein shake and some sugar fee iced latte, which came back up. I threw up a lot of saliva, and it really hurt shortly before I threw up. It felt like the pill was trying to push through but couldn't. I was afraid to eat anything after that and ended up waiting until 3 pm to even try. I has some cheese, and it was a bit uncomfortable. I was afraid it wouldn't stay down, but it did.

that's so strange.  you know, I do get really nauseous if I take vitamins on an empty stomach.  They don't get stuck but I feel terrible.  I take them either immediately before eating or with a small sip after eating.  I have no idea if this will help you, but just a thought.  I hope you and you doctor can figure this out.  Be well!
