Lots of flatulence about a day before bowel movement
HI Gang,
I am writing with a really bizarre problem as of late. Flatulence!
I normally only have 3 stool movements per week. This was pre-op and post-op.
But lately, the day before I have a bowel movement, I have been having a lot of flatulence. I mean, a LOT. I recognize that on average a healthy person passes gas 14 times in a day. I well beyond it. And they smell rank, sort of like hay.
Is this something to be worried about? Should I also be consuming Bean-no? The need to fart occurs at the most terrible times, like in yoga or other gym classes or when riding the train. Normally, i could "hold" a fart but there is no holding these.
With the exception of MOnday, my diet is pretty much the same it always is.

I get more gas only if I eat more carbs or sugar alcohols. Mine never smell though.

Most Torani has splenda, not SA. Fire most people ~ splenda dies not cause gas.

I seem to vaguely remember seeing a post or two about this subject previously. I guess you could use the search feature.......the magnifying glass at the top of the page.
If it's a problem, and it appears it is, I suggest you call your doctor. He/she has the medical training to answer your question.
Good luck. ![]()
"Is this something to be worried about?"
I'm more worried about your constant worrying. I'm not sure when farting became a "bizarre problem", but I second Rocky's suggestion of using the search function to find hundreds of posts on the topic.

Having BM EVERY day is a must for me. Taking Miralax daily helps with that. The longer poo stays in your guys ~ the longer can bacteria work ,on it making worse gas.
Some foods are worse than others.
Devrom really helps with the smell. Gas-x with the gas.
And...if you do the same things, eat the same things, you get the same results...
Yoga and other exercise really makes the guts twisted - releasing trapped gas.

good morning! I just read another reply and saw that you had eaten chick peas...well coincidentally I recently added crisp chick peas to the top of my salads and noticed an increase in gas/bloat. Not sure if it's just coincidence or not but thought I'd through it out there. Hope you have a great day.
