Look back: 5 months post op to 17 months post op
Hi Guys!
This is was supposed to be a happy and motivational post to discuss some of the intangible/priceless benefits that come with the surgery. And the value of not throwing in the towel too soon (i.e. the surgeons bar, the bar for the society/friends that knew the obese version of you, versus YOUR bar).
Arguing only takes away from happy glow and just gives the outside reader more data to sort through.
Be happy for yourself and each other!
And yes, weight maintance (sic) is HARD. In some ways, it is actually probably harder than losing because one isn't see their surgeon ever quarter for labs and a check-in and society isnt giving one the "good job" back slap.
But the point of the post was to look over "what is success"? Was I successful at 5 months out (i.e. Yes!) ? Am I successful now (i.e. Yes!)? The point was also to discuss the little things/experiences/abilities that I "got back."

Three pounds below Goal!!! Yay !
Correcting misinformation is as important as a happy clappy post. Christine and I don't appear to have a problem, but there are always people who want to jump in and start drama - and of course having been on this forum for 11 years, I was clearly expecting the drama llamas to want to jump in. OH is not a good place to be precious, - if you put yourself out there, you really have to expect people to have an opinion And they have every right to voice it.
It's always a shame when people are only bright enough to name call, but OH has never required intelligence of their membership as we see all too often

Funny. She called herself out. And Kim is correct. I see you had surgery around the same time as the OP. At 17 months out, things are still easy for both of you. When you get to the 5 year mark, things get real. Remember that.

Love the name calling. Seemingly you disagree. I'm certain that with your year and a half worth of experience you could have thought of a better response.

Perhaps she did, but I'm also certain that she is capable of providing clarification without someone speaking for her. My guess is she didn't use the word "bully" because she knew it was an incorrect description. #forumnannynotrequired
