I had my rny on 4/3, I had an awful first week, great second and third week (very energetic),  in the middle of my fourth week I started to struggle. I couldn't sleep,  feeling tired and sluggish and constipated. Today is the second day I have Nausea, chills, headache, constipation. The rn thinks I may be dehydrated or it could be the birth control pills I started three days ago.  I'm still waiting on a call back from the Dr. If I should go to urgent care.  Anyone have problems with birth control pills?

I don't know why your doctor didn't tell you this but you should never take a birth control pill again! Your body doesn't absorb enough of it. You will wind up pregnant. They had me switch to the patch well before my surgery. I suggest you switch asap

The dr. told me to switch, but when I went with my gyno she suggested another pill. She was well aware that I recently had surgery. Sometimes you want to trust the professionals!

You might want to check the pregnancy board. There are some who trusted professionals over there.

The recommendation is for 2 types of birth control.

Anything you take orally is going to run the risk of malabsorption. I switched to the hormonal iud. Because it works directly in your uterus, as opposed to circulating the hormones through your body, it is not affected by the surgery or weight loss.

Hubby and I have been having fun learning more about condoms. Never needed them before :)

...like switching to the size large condoms to prevent breakage that can happen more easily in the regular-sized ones?

If you MUST know,, the regular sized ones turned out to be too small. Much hilarity ensued.  So, yes, we use the largest ones.

Pill will not work! I tried the Nuva Ring and loved the ease of use, but I had some side effects (im very sensitive to hormonal bc) so now I am switching to the Mirena (IUD). Hope it works, but switch ASAP or you'll be prego in no time!
