Blood sugar running high one day post-op?

I was diabetic prior to surgery and was given an insulin shot once while in the hospital.  Your levels should go down afterwards.  Like others said, just give it time.

My diabetes resolution was my main reason for getting the surgery, and unfortunately, I was one of those 20% that didn't get it.  It did greatly improve, as I went from 5 medications down to 1, and no more injections.  I'm okay with it now, but it is a little disappointing.

I was on an insulin pump until the day of surgery. My BS shot up to 180 right after surgery. They gave me some insulin. That was the last insulin I've taken and I'm 3 months post op. No diabetes melds at all.
