How long does the mal absorption last?

Malabsorption of calories starts dwindling immediately, and is gone by a year and a half or so. My surgeon was pretty adamant that the malabsorption is much less than most people believe.

Don't rely on it for much help.

Malabsorption of vitamins and minerals is permanent.

Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.

I have never really relied on it. My doctor told me I wasn't malabsorping much to begin with because he didn't remove much intestine. I do understand about the vitamins.
