So I had a horrible episode of the foamies on Saturday.  Was seriously horrible.

Well today all I have had so far is a protein drink and some water.  Yet I have that "stuck" feeling and I am getting the foamies.  WHAT is going on???  I don't get it

Have you swallowed any pills or vitamins today? I bought a new vitamin B-50 complex, and it got stuck the first time I took it. Horrible foamies! I have to cut the stupid things in half because they won't go down otherwise.

I took my Actigal (sp?) this morning.  But the stuck/foamies didn't start until hours after!  I haven't had problems with pills getting stuck..yet.

I can feel the Actigal when I take it, and it's a little uncomfortable. But it shouldn't cause a reaction hours later. Watch out for pills. I didn't have any problems with them until one random day they started bothering me. It was kind of like all of the sudden my nerves grew back or something. I'm not sure what else could be causing your problem.

Hi,

Keep an eye on that and if it continues, contact your surgeon. You're 4 weeks out I think? Typical time to develop a stricture.  When I had surgery 9 years ago, I developed a stricture around the 4 week mark - started with feeling "stuck" all the time, foamies, then all-out throwing up, couldn't get anything down including water.  Easy fix - balloon dilation endoscopy.

Yes, 4 weeks today.  I actually have my first follow up with my surgeon tomorrow afternoon.  I will mention this for sure.

You could be irritated and swollen from your getting stuck and foamies yesterday. I would eat soft today and give it a chance to calm down

NY is right... this happened to me when I forgot about my pouch and tried to down 1/2 glass of crystal lite all at once.  I knew what I'd done, and the mistake I'd made, but 48 hours later I was still foamie and couldn't keep anything down.  I called my surgeon and he said to go back to really soft food and take it really easy.  He said I was probably still swollen from the day before, thereby creating a type of blockage.  The swelling did finally go down and I was back in business by the 3rd day.

Note:  I'll never do THAT again.
