Today's the day
I'm leaving to the hospital in an hour. I'm excited and scared. I hope everything goes well & am scared if I will manage with all the post op situations. But then again I thought I couldn't manage the pre op and I did well. I lost 15 pounds so far. Well, wish me luck. See you guys on the other side. Say a prayer for me please.

Good luck surgery twin! See you on the other side!
Yes, you'll have pain, frustration, and maybe even regret. You'll wonder how to manage but, in the end, you'll figure it out and realize how rich life can be. Here's a story for you to read while recuperating: two days ago, I volunteered for a spring clean-up event at our local state park located on the edge of a lake. A fellow volunteer and I kept making comments how beautiful the day was, how blue the water was, how precious the spring flowers looked... It prompted me to ask her, "you really live in the moment, don't you?" She replied, "I'm a cancer survivor and see life so differently now. I think I can tell you've gone through something major, too?" When I told her three years ago, I could have never walked more than a hundred feet without needing to rest, we both cried, then hugged, then high-fived each other in victory, then laughed, and then continued on working saying things like how well the gentle breeze cooled us, how fresh the spring air was, how clean the lake smelled...
Good luck! xoxo

You are going to be ok! Think of all the hoops you had to jump through (not literally!!) to get to this point. Your commitment to this process probably started a while ago! I too wondered how I would handle everything, the what if's scared me. Then I realized that with all the health issues I had going on that the surgery might actually help me save my life, a life saving procedure.
