Thank you!  :)

I never thought of myself as much an artist since I got a C in 7th grade art, but if you have a chance to go to your local "Paint Nite" it is a fun way to get to know people and your friends in a new way!

You look great...and you are so young you don't have the turkey neck (age/weightloss).  You are one of those people who look like they never had a weight issue.  I was in a van a few years ago with a bunch of guys (drug rehab/HIPAA) being the driver.  One guy goes off about so and so is a big tub of lard/fat aaas.  I look at him and told him I use to be 300 pounds.  He changed his attitude very quickly and couldn't stop apologizing.  Society will treat you different...The mental side of WLS can be harder than the physical side.  Good luck on your journey.

Thanks for compliment!

I totally know what you mean about the mental side being harder. I try not to be a part of the "Reformed" moment (i.e. judge others who are struggling to harshly becuase I "did it" with success why can't they?). The war against MO is one I have been fighting since puberty. Sometimes, I win the battles and get a bit ahead. But often MO wins.

I know about the mental stuff. In the normal world, I am small. In the figure skating world, I am medium.

I am starting to learn things that "normal girls" already know/experienced. For example, the compliment-slam was first experienced by me this weekend. "You are one of those hot chicks that acts like she knows about hockey but doesnt" (Excuse me? I grew up in MN and broke my wrist PLAYING hockey).  But I was too busy thinking "MEEE?!?!? A hot chick!?!?!?" and every great comeback/argument just kind of short circuited.

About judging people, back to figure skating, there were tryouts.  We had to fill out a questionaire.  Some the questions were "How tall are you ? how much do you weigh? Your size?"  And that made me wonder, if there are two girls that can skate equally well but one is thinner than the other, are they going to pick the THIN one?

I felt it was inappropriate to ask these questions at that point because we are responsibe for purchasing our own practice clothes, performance costumes, and warm-ups (i.e. there is no uniform they supply).  It made me feel sad.

I dont know WHEN it would be an appropriate time to bring that up to the organization. I feel  like I need to advocate somehow.

Okay Skinny, I've been an admirer of yours for several months. Not in the weirdo, stalker way, just in the you really enjoy life and are fun way! That being said, your haircut is darling. Congrats on the great weight loss and keep up the good work.
