Congrats! I hope to wind up there. I'm on Prilosec twice/day and still have nausea spells from GERD. GERD's why I chose RNY over VSG. My surgeon said it could cure it, but he puts everyone on twice daily Pepcid for at least the first 3 months after surgery anyway.

I've been on PPI's since 1998.  As, I lost weight my GERD improved, but it did not go away. I still sleep on a slightly elevated mattress and need to increase it, since my GERD has worsen with my weight gain.  (I know I must have excess stomach acid, because I've been taking my B12 in tablet form since surgery and have great levels) I'm in the process of getting a distal revision and hope that after I lose more weight, the GERD will resolve.
